Picked up RB last night(just the game ala carte). When I go to solo, it says that no
microphone ws detected. Im just using the guitar side of it - how can I get the system to recognize that?

Thanks in advance.

Greg

Are you trying to just use a standard controller and not a guitar controller?

I am not sure a standard controller works for guitar since, like you are experiencing, the controller is used for the singer.

If you are using the Xbox 360 version, you have two ways of singing... Both of these have been confirmed by me on my friend's setup...

1. You plug the Mic into a USB slot, grab a normal X360 controller (non-guitar, non-drums) and use that to select your rocker, select options, etc.

2. You use your headset that is plugged into a normal X360 controller, again, using the controller to select options, rockers, etc.

I prefer option 2 so I can play guitar AND sing at the same time.
I couldn't get the mic to work as a singing mic if it is plugged into the guitar (using a GH2 and GH3 guitar anyway).

If you have the PS3 version, I would assume it works in much the same way although I haven't tested either theory...

1. Again, plug the Mic into a USB port, grab a SIXAXIS controller (or DualShock 3 for those lucky enough to have one), and use that to select things.

2. You might be able to use a Bluetooth headset, or a USB headset from Socom or something, as your mic. If you can, you'll probably need to use a controller to select things again.

Either way, what it comes down to is you need a standard controller to kind of "link" the microphone to so the game knows what player is singing. The microphone it's self does not work as a stand alone controller. While actually singing, you can set the controller aside as it's not used for anything during a song.

Yea you can't use the controller for guitar because it recognizes it as the singer.

According to tech support, my guitar is not supported.
Im using a GH2 guitar from PS2 and using that on the PS3.
