I am a Canadian and have had the game since the end of november so I would obviously like some of the DLC. I am planning on getting a lot of it when I can. I understand the whole not being released here until the game but I think we deserve at least a set date so we know when we will be able to get it.

Hello.. I purchased this game a couple of weeks ago off of vg+. I was wondering if there has been any word on when the DLC will be available in Canada. I logged into my american account, and I can see it on there, but I want to DL it with my CDN account.

Shipping Dates. Not Release. The game does not have a release date, short of 'releasing it from our warehouse to Canada'

"Shipping date" and "release date" are synonymous. When a game is announced as "shipping" on a certain date, that means that the retailers should have units in stock on that date. For example, here's (http://www.gamershell.com/news/43389.html) EA's press release for Crysis, which "ships to retailers [Tuesday Nov 13]," the date on which anyone could walk into stores and purchase the game. The "shipping date" does not mean the date on which units are physically being shipped to retailers' warehouses, which occurs prior to the shipping date.

Rock Band missed its Canadian shipping date on Nov 20. It then missed the shipping date still stickied here, yesterday, Dec 17. It remains to be seen whether they will meet the next (inconsistently) announced date, Dec 20, but it looks very unlikely. The final (inconsistent) shipping date from a semi-official source is Dec 27. Which, if any, of these dates will also bring us the DLC also remains to be seen. There is no apparent reason the DLC wasn't released on Nov 20, and there is certainly no reason to continue to withhold it.

I actually have a fully functioning game I purchased in the US. And up until this date not once did I complain about DLC and Warranties because the game was not out here and I understood that, they kept assuring us that when the game was out here both would be released as well. Now that release date is here and still no DLC, so now I start to wonder and complain.

Because there is no street date for it, and you can very easily get it from numerous Canadian stores that import it.

Not to mention the fact that the content is already there, so all they have to do is enable it for Canadian accounts. Like I said earlier, all you have to do is make an american account, and everything is there.

It doesnt make sense. Why not let the people who have the game access the content. And don't give me the "It's not released in Canada yet" stuff. As of yesterday, it was supposed to be, and now everyone is in the dark.

you see that stickied thread titled "Canadian release date?" at the top of this forum. Scroll down to the middle of the 3rd page and read the long ass press release. One paragraph states the following...

"As previously announced, Rock Band is slated for release on the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system on December 18, 2007 in North America. Rock Band will ship in Canada on December 17th for Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation 2. Rock Band will ship in Europe for the Xbox 360(R)video game and entertainment system from Microsoft(R) and PLAYSTATION(R)3 computer entertainment system and PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system in the first quarter of 2008."

Now since that thread is stickied i assume thats as official as it can get on this forum.

I'm not really causing any trouble, just posting on a random internet forum. I don't see how this is troubling anyone, you don't have to read threads if you don't like the topic.

And when companies delay products continually, give no real reasons and just beat around the bush it leaves themselves open to a lot of speculation. If they didn't want it they could quickly clear it up.

And seeing as car companies are gouging Canadians right now charging anywhere from 5-20k more for some cars in Canada its not to far fetched too think other industries are going to do this too.
