I am so very glad that I discovered this board late in the night last night. I was desperate to get the PS2 Bundle for my son, but none were to be found.

I shared the info from here that I discovered that the PS3 equipment will work in the PS2.

If you should get a change and put this on your watch list maybe we can really get the word out so that no one is disappointed for Christmas.

PLEASE DO NOT BID, but if you add this to your watchlist it might make the pulse and really help out someother people

If there is any additional info I need to add let me know.

-If this is not allowed I am sorry. I am just so thankful that I found this info on here.

Merry Christmas.

How about you wake up and join the PS3 revolution and lets put those PS2's where they belong... the trash
Unnecessary post.

Why would you feel you had to reply with that?
The only thing the person was doing was trying to help out other PS2 users, me included, on how to get a working PS2 bundle together for Christmas.

brandydandy,
Thank you for that and ignore smashedbunny.

I would buy a PS3, but I am saving for that surgery to have that sick removed from your arse. :D

Dang! I was just trying to help some people out.

It's bad enough so many threads are turning into PS3/360 wars...now we gotta have PS3/PS2 wars?

Did Gates slip something into the milk supply?

Cause it's time to let go!
Do you still watch movies on VHS?
There comes a point when you have to realize that your obsolete.

I love my VHS and my 8-tracks.

Honestly, I would love to update, but it is not a priority for me. It is a game system for my 8 year old and 3 year old that can ROCK the guitar Hero like no body, but until they are older we are sticking with the PS2.

Just to let people know that the equipment is the same, that is all.

Glad you got it all together for Christmas morning.
We were going to have it but we will make it an afterChristmas present.
Enjoy the game. :)

Wait? Is that a bird ... a plane ... a banhammer?

Go start your "My console is better than yours" elsewhere.
It's already been said multiple times that starting console wars here will lead to banning.

Folks, there is a pretty strict policy here against console wars/console bashing/flaming/trolling. Consider yourself warned.

The lovely lady here is just trying to get her son a great Christmas gift while helping others do the same, which in itself is a great gesture.

Thank you Apples for removing his garbage from this otherwise thoughtful thread.

brandydandy (and all other PS2 users), when I first heard about the compatibility, I was ecstatic.

While I have a PS3 and love it, the idea that the PS2->PS3 upgrade path is bolstered by allowing people to buy the game for their current platform and then not need to buy additional peripherals if they choose to upgrade is wonderful news.

And your chosen approach--buy the PS3 version plus the PS2 stand-alone puts you in position to be rocking out the PS3 version on the day you choose to upgrade (should you do so). Just make sure you put the game case with the PS3 version in it in with all your valuable papers, whether in a home safe or a safe deposit box.

This is what my husband said. Once we upgrade we will already have the game, and be ready to play. After the kids are done with the drum set I may need a new one. :p

Thanks guys!

I am one happy momma!

From experience, I can say upgrade support is amazing from PS2 -> PS3. The PS2/PS1 games run beautifully, and it'll upscale them to HD. The Eye Toy works, and is supported by some PS3 games even. I was upset at first that there are no built-in connections for the old controllers and memory cards. But the way they've done things is really cool, how you can plug in just any old flash drive and copy your save games or whatever... that beats the hell out of proprietary memory cards. And for about 10-15 bucks you can get adapters for the old mem cards and controllers.

For some reason, Rock Band blocks you from copying their save though... what's up with that Harmonix?
