no not the one with elisha cuthbert..THAT one is not at all disturbing...
has anyone heard of or read about the "sylvia likens" murder back in 1958?
there are 2 movies "an american crime" and "the girl next door"
the first is based on the court case and the second on a book
i have the second movie and it is terrible what they did to her.
i then read the case files on the internet.
this poor girl was kept in a basement and tortured for a few months by her aunt and kids and even neighborhood kids.
if you want to read about her case google sylvia likens.
i am a huge fan of movies of any genre but this one unnerved me a bit

Yeah I'm a big Ellen Page fan so I saw An American Crime a while ago. The movie was pretty messed up, then i read up about the real story and it was much worse. They actually toned down all the violence/rape for the film, which is the opposite of how it usually works.

Kind of like Jaycee Lee Dugard (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidnapping_of_Jaycee_Lee_Dugard)? Anyone sick enough to do that to a person should be shot in the head. And then their estate should have to pay for the bullet.
Mmmm Elisha Cuthbert is awesome. :)
Had to edit your post. She is awesome. That movie was poo.

I've seen this one as well. Good movie, but very messed up. I don't know how anyone could do that to another person. After watching it I was depressed for the rest of the day.

I actually saw "The Girl Next Door" (not the one with Cuthbert, though). It was really quite saddening to see such a sweet kid go through that kind of torture, and this is coming from someone who's seen his fair share of snuff films.

Simulated or real?
Any way, I feel pretty awful for not having heard of Sylvia Likens or these films, especially because I consider myself a mystery/investigative/serial killer/weird and unexplained stories/etc. buff. I will have to look into them some time.
Knowing Ellen Page, she probably makes the movie unbearably difficult to watch because of how "into it" she usually is.

Sounds like she knew how to party hard.
I was hoping this was about the Elisha Cuthbert one because I love that movie.

The juice was worth the squeeze. :p
Don't know anything about the torture story though. Sounds bad.

Might have to check out this other one.
But yeah, she was definitely worth the squeeze. Can't blame the kid.

I'm not proud of it, but both.

It served as an excuse to show off Elisha Cuthbert... there's nothing wrong with that imo :D

It was funny AND awesome in other ways. I could totally relate to the whole "Tripod" analogy. I had 2 best friends in High School and whenever you took one of us away from the equation things would get weird.
Also the whole "**** her for me! FOR ME!" line is something I actually said to a friend of mine back in the day. Cracks me up.

Woooow... Sounds freaking horrible. I couldn't sit down and watch that. Seriously, people who actually do that to a human being deserves to get shot right in between their f***ing eyes.
