Only blue fret plays note?

I just got Beatles Rock Band set for the wii today. I synced up my guitar and started playing while my mom sang - I hit nothing. This wasn't my first time playing, and I'm usually very good, so I was baffled. I went into training, and started the sound check. Only the blue fret plays a note, the others have weird noise interference and I was told the game couldn't hear the notes. I tried recalibrating, but that didn't do it. Is my guitar broken or is there something I'm missing? Mic and drums work a dream.

Aww, bugger, I was afraid of that. And since I bought the whole big set, it's probably going to be a nightmare to make someone replace it for me. Thanks for the quick reply.
