Last night we tried playing online for first time. It seemed to work ok, couple times connection dropped but mostly worked. then the 2.10 firmware update came out, so I installed it.
Few hours later I went to play online. I tried for about 3 hours to literally play ONE SONG. It would either:
1. Completely lock up on the redish background "Loading" screen after the song was chosen. Only button that does anything is the PS button, hit that and go to quit game, it restarts the whole PS3
2. Pop up a black box saying Loading, wait about 60 seconds, then say Lost Communication with Rock Band Server
3. One out of about 25 times it would actually make it all the way to load the song! It would start playing it! 10 seconds into the song it just drops and says Lost Connection to Rock Band Servers. This happened about 5 times, in 3 horus I was only able to get THIS far 5 times, then this happened EVERY time.
Yes I've read the FAQs, yes I am forwarding the ports described in the sticky srticle at the top of this forum. No it isn't my connection, all other aspects of my connection are fine. No it isn't my PS3 NIC, I play COD4 a LOT and many other games and it works flawlessly online.
In literally 3 hours of trying I have been unable to play ONE SINGLE SONG ONLINE. I tried again today at about 12 PM EST, EXACT same problem. I got into a group with 3 others, looked like a great group. Started the song and BAM 5-10 seconds in it just dropped me.
Am I seriously the only one having this issue? It is very annoying to pay $180 for a game and have it not work.
I would really like to know if others are having these same symptoms so I can determine if it really is somehow something on my end or if the game network play just sucks that bad.
