Here is a link to some new DLC GH3 will be offering this month. In my opinion it's crap. The only reason anyone will buy any of it is just to have something new lol.

http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/15306/Guitar-Hero-III-December-Downloads-Revealed/

I did buy GH3 when it came out so I would have something to play until Rock Band. I was pretty irritated that Slither wasn't included on the disc when it was the song used in their commercial and it had been stated it was in the game before release. Of course they included it in their first overpriced song pack. Now that I have Rock Band and their DLC to look forward to, I don't see myself ever buying any content for GH3. I honestly haven't even played it since I got Rock Band. Not even to play the free Halo song. I might check it out one day. It's just that if I played GH3, I know I'd be thinking "why am I playing this if I could be playing Rock Band."

Thank you Harmonix for giving us DLC that we will actually want. I have bought the Metallica pack, the Black Sabbath pack, Jukebox Hero, Fortunate Son, and Buddy Holly. I have played each one numerous times and feel my Microsoft Points were well spent. I actually bought the GH3 Velvet Revolver pack when it was released just because I wanted to play Slither and I like a few of their songs. I feel I wasted my money on that one. I only played the songs two or three times. I wish I had saved those points for Rock Band.

Anyway, GH3 didn't even release any content in November other than the Halo song for 360 owners. Who the hell cares about that song? Their December content does not interest me at all.

Oh yeah lol. I keep forgetting GH3 came out at the very end of October. So I guess I can say at least they are getting more DLC out than GH2. But still, they will never catch up with Rock Band. And me being wrong about content in November doesn't change the fact that their DLC sucks lol.

As pathetic as most of the DLC for GHIII is... the Mastodon track is very tempting. But considering how less fun I find the notecharts to be... I dunno...

I'm sorry but for a game strictly based on guitar riffs to put Linkin Park in their DLC shows the difference in a music game when musicians aren't designing it. Rock Band is far better than GH3 and Rock Band's dlc blows GH3's outta the water easily. Good Job HMX. So far I've got no buyer's remorse for my Rock Band purchase...and I pretty much gave away my guitar hero 3 game already as I did nothing but neglect it anyways. Now if I could just get my RB guitar fixed, I'd be a happy camper.

The free track (which comes from the guy who did The Devil Went Down to Georgia) makes my day.

For all the hate the notecharts get (and deserve) I friggin' loved The Devil Went Down to Georgia. That and Cult of Personality kept me encouraged to finish the last two tiers.

agreed. I haven't regretted any of the DLC I"ve bought for rockband and I've bought the mtallica, bowie and sabbath packs plus my sharon and the joker and theif. I initially wasn't into Joker and the theif but then I played it on hard drums and it's easily one of the most fun drums songs in the game(expert chart looks even more fun but I've yet to nail down the chorus drum line).
And I played all teh free GH3 tracks at my friends house and once was enough for all of them.

I'm like the dream consumer: I've pretty much bought all the DLC for both games, and all the DLC for GHII before them. I have to say, though, that I actively look forward to the Rock Band DLC; when I think about the GH3 DLC, though, I start the thought process off with "do I really even want that song by that death metal band I've never heard of?"

Neversoft has kind of painted themselves into a corner with the hardcore/metal guitar image they've given GH3. As a result, there are certain kinds of fun-but-pop rock songs (e.g. "Buddy Holly") that they can't really ever sell.

And I'm really glad Harmonix does pick and sell those kinds of songs, and that Rock Band supports that kind of fun. It's why I bought the game.

I haven't looked back.

I was hoping they would put at least some good stuff for GH3...oh well I guess I will just have to wait for the RB DLC

I think he's talking about the imagery, not the setlist. They tried to make GH3 very metal with all the flames on the box and the looks of the characters and whatnot, it just doesn't work out, they did very little with the set list and the note charts are not fun to play. The best metal song in the game was The Devil Went Down to Georgia and they had the nerve not to make it playable at the start lol

Metal/Hardcore in GHIII: One, Number of the Beast, The Devil, Raining Blood, Stricken, Before I Forget, Black Sunshine, THE METAL, etc. etc. Then all of the bonus songs practically are.

I still put in Guitar Hero 3 and play every now and then. I play Rock Band too. I don't see the point in laughing at other games' downloadable content. We still don't have some cool songs that are on Guitar Hero 2 or 3.

This crap costs $9.95 in the aussie Playstation store, thats $2.86 US per song.

I am never gonna pay that much for one of neversoft's shi*ty charts, especially when they have crappy bands like that.
