Hey all!
The best drummer on Wii is, yes, GOING TO 360 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
This is extremely sad for me, and as well as others that have played with him. So let's all give a shout-out to him!
Grinders, you're the man! Continue rocking on in the eksbawks!

Wait...
Grinders still exists?
Man it's been a while since I've played on the Wii.
Only played with him once I believe, but he was an awesome drummer that one time I did. Hope to see him having a gamertag.

Actually, it might not even be so much for playing with better people as much as it is to play with a broader range of people.
Or as he said he might play other games. :p
I still own RB2 for the Wii, and I might pick up RB2 for the PS3 should I ever get one as well. Just to play with EVERYONE and not just one console's mindset.

I don't understand why people switch.
We have parity. Some have plat status. Some have insane scores. Some have loads of DLC
ALL THAT IS LOST WHEN SWITCHING PEOPLE!

I think the reason most people are switching nowadays is because there tends to be a lot more people here on the forums that you can talk to that are on 360 or PS3
I bought my 360 back in February of 08 specifically for Rock Band, because it was becoming apparent that it wasn't really going to be Rock Band (no Band World Tour, character customization, and the biggest part - no DLC). I have been very happy with the switch, because there are so many people I talk to here that have the same console as me - not so if I stuck with Wii
Futher, there are still some things that totally equal, such as RBN. But, I'm pretty sure that most people make the change due to connectivity, to play with their friends. That's what I've been hearing from most people who make the switch, anyway. I think, for some anyway, they are thinking less of their scores and more of enjoying the game with people they like. I dunno

ALL THAT IS LOST WHEN SWITCHING PEOPLE!
Parity? Not quite there yet. And with RBN, there will never be complete parity between 360 and Wii.
Plat status? I don't know how many times I have to say this: Plat means absolutely NOTHING other than you can pass all 84 songs on expert on whatever instrument. Plat is definitely not a measure of skill, more of a measure of having more time on your hands than others.
Insane scores? Those can all be replicated on a different console, you know. Most of the people who have made said "insane scores" are
already on the 360 and if they really wanted to they could go back and do it again.
Loads of DLC? True. You may have purchased a bunch of DLC for one console. Yet, almost everyone single person I've known who has switched now has more DLC on their new console than their older one. Hard drives really do make a difference.
But anyway, Grinders, I can't wait to play again on the box. :D

And I can't switch because I can't afford it. I did the math, and it's going to cost me around $1,200 to fully switch my music gaming over to the 360 and restore what I have. And that's only counting a 60GB HD. I'll end up just getting **** because I have the disk space. For both games.
Plus, I still have yet to get my Van Halen game in the mail... and I don't want to lose my Wii, because believe it or not, I did buy the console for the games.

xbox live- $60
wireless adapter- $100
extra controller- $50
headset- $20
recovering dlc~ $190(100 songs, subtracting $10 for the pack discounts i'd get)

Also, cut out the wireless adapter, headset, and extra controller. You could save $170 dollars there. You get a free headset WITH the xbox. You dont necessarily need a wireless adapter. Routers and ethernet cables work just fine. The extra controller wouldnt be that necessary either if you bought the full band kit. Also, the ability to export RB1 (only 5 bucks) and dlc packs are huge plusses if you're really concerned about DLC. As I said before, everyone I know who has switched has bought more DLC for the xbox because of that bigger hard drive.

i think i'll go for the xbox for christmas but just get ncaa football '10 and nhl '10 and slowly work toward getting rb for it.

He could be in my position where it would be completely IMPOSSIBLE to use an ethernet cable to link his Xbox because his router and systems are far from each other.

Whoa whoa whoa, does that seriously work? You don't have to spend $100 on a wireless dongle?
If that's true then that's a major budget cut for me if I get a 360
EDIT: Oh awesome, you can! http://www.instructables.com/id/Use-your-laptop-as-an-XboxXbox-360-wireless-adap/

Oh, I am. Here's what I worked out.
RockBand maybe like... $30 to import to RB2
RockBand 2 for $60 since it's new.
Guitar Hero: World Tour BAND KIT, $200ish, or $50 if I can get a GH5 band kit with the better guitar (since Jimi Hendrix songs are WT-only until further notice)
GH5: $60 or $200ish if I get the band kit here
GH:Van Halen another $60, since I already sent in my free rebate to redeem the Wii version.
GH5 guitar for about... $70 since the band kit only has 1 guitar in it.
GH:Smash Hits $40, to import to GH5 as well as WT.
RB:AC/DC for... not sure, I think $30 to import those songs as well.
XBox with a 60GB HD, I think that's $200, though I might end up needing a 120GB in the end, I'm not sure.
Restoring my DLC (http://dlcquickplay.com/user/djkoopa) for both games, that's $387 right there. Not counting minor discounts for the... 4 or so packs that I got all the songs in. And then I didn't count both Pearl Jam albums and the Guns 'N Roses album that I didn't buy because of space issues with the Wii.
Then again, in the end, I'd probably just end up buying every DLC ever just so I could have it all for online play.
Oh, and I'll probably end up getting an Ion kit because I have more fun drumming.

DJ, are those things you've already bought for the wii and are seeking to replace? Or are they what you want?

That I'm replacing. I don't have Beatles yet, but I want to get it.
