Yeah, that's last week's press release from Activision. Interesting that 1Up would characterize it as Activision offering to "work together" with Harmonix when the patch was already finished at the time they stepped in.

That's old news. Read about that stuff under "Announcements".
Basically, Harmonix wants everyone to conform to some sort of standard so that all music controllers will work with other games. Activision is the opposite, they want nothing to work with their stuff and their equipment to work with no other games. However, they will allow the GH3 controller to work with RB, for a price.

Was that ever confirmed? Do we really know they were asking for money? It could have been anything...It's funny that so many threads a couple weeks ago were locked for 'misinformation' but everyone saying Activision is money hungry and they were asking for way to much is perfectly fine...:rolleyes:

Well, to be fair, "for a price" doesn't have to mean money.
I think it's pretty clear that they're looking for some sort of compensation: all you have to do is look at the situation and wonder why Activision feels a need to "offer" and "discuss" something when the patch was ready to download a week before they made their statement.
