Make a font of your own handwriting for free...

I came across this website and thought it was pretty awesome. You print out a document from the site, hand-write each of the letters and symbols that are usually in a font. Then scan it, upload it, and they give you a font file that you can use on your computer of your own handwriting!

I used to have really neat handwriting when I was in middle school, now that I've went through High School and am now in college, my handwriting has been getting gradually worse.

The great thing is that you can also share your fonts with people. For example, here's mine. (http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/6/2/2463800/Currier%20New%20Bold.ttf)

To install a font, all you have to do is add it in this location (default for PCs with Windows): C:\WINDOWS\Fonts

Then it will show up in MS Word, Paint, or whatever other programs you want as one of the fonts you can choose.

awesome I wish I had a scanner too... but then it's been a long looong time since I've seriously written anything by hand so my handwriting is not as cool as it used to be. :( Now if I could make it into a font, there's no real reason for me to use pen and paper anymore.

I dunno, I don't think my handwriting will make a good font. I've been told I write like I draw. I have a distinct penmanship but I write each letter in the word somewhat stylized in relation to the other letters next to them.. if that makes any sense.

I think they are actually thinking "Wow, for a boy, that's pretty good, I can read it."
