First off, I'd like to say hello to everyone. First timer here. I am a lover of the drums and wanted to get insight from you guys who admire them as well. First of all, what's the best drum set to get? Second, just for my curiosity, who is everyone's favorite drummer? Looking for some inspiration here people! lol. I run a blog and put out who my favorite drummer ever is today. Don't kill me for it! I want to see what you guys think.

Fav drummers are Phil Rudd from AC/'DC and Kita from Lordi.
As for drums, for playing Rock Band the best are Ions. As for any other Ekit or real kit, you need to ask Davidshek, he is the local drum expert.

And nice to meet you my fine Rock Band peer.
Which kit to go for for drumming on Rock Band or real drums? DDR is the man to go to. I'm hoping to get this (http://www.guitar-sales-scotland.com/manage/gallery/Drums.jpg) for both real drumming and Rock Band. Going to be a load to come out my pocket, but... Ion would be good if you're just looking to have fun with a nice drum kit and have the cash. GoodWood are pretty good to if you can handle real drumming and the recoil from the pads.
Keith Moon is my favorite drummer, and always will be. I mean, I know he isn't the best, Neil Peart owns that part of my heart, but Keith Moon is just a triplet fanatic and random, but legit as hell. He's probably the only drummer who will ever be the most random drummer ever, and actually sound pretty good.

I have honestly never understood the appeal of electronic drum sets...
Why not just buy an acoustic?
As for on topic: For real drums, i use a Ludwig, but i want a Tama.
As for Rock Band, i have no idea. :p
And my favorite drummer is Brann Dailor. :D

hey, glad you wish to enter the world of drums. I own a pearl drumset, they're pretty diverse and high quality. tama and ludwig are also good choices for a drumset. if you're reffering to rockband kits, i dont think an ion is necessary unless you have money to burn, the standard kit will do maybe with silencers (adds sensitivity and pads sound less annoying). favorite drummers are brann dailor and matt greiner.

Actually, for just getting the best RB pads you can, go Goodwood.

hi im new on here as well
as for the drums I would suggest getting a "Yamaha DTXpress"
digital drums are the way to go. they can be pricey though but are good at imitating acoustic drums and you can change the kits

If your a starter drummer, I'd look for a used Pearl Proluner kit. They are great and cheap. Also, I recommend Sabian for cymbals. I'd check out the B8's, and AX series. Stay away from the Solar series though.

I play drums very rarely even though I have a 15 piece Pearl set down in my basement. I focus most of my time on the guitar instead. My favorite drummer has got to be Mike Portnoy.

Welcome to the forums, bro!
My favorite drummer I have to say is Danny Carey from TOOL. Kinda tough to decide cause I was also think of choosing Mike Portnoy from Dreamtheater.
One drummer that got me into drumming would have to be Brad Wilk from Rage Against The Machine.
