my wii was sent in for repair, as it fell from my counter and it got major internal damage. (didnt even turn on after the fall)
when i called nintendo, they said i would have a 90% of losing all my data, but here is the thing... i had 87 downloaded songs from dlc which i payed for..
wil i have to repurchase them again if they have to replace my mother board??
i still got the songs backed up on my sd card since the game backed it up on its own.
anyone help?

You're gonna have to talk to Nintendo about that one. Trying to put your SD card into a new Wii would be exactly like taking your SD to a friend's house and putting it in his Wii.
Without some sort of license migration intervention from Nintendo, that's not going to work.

Was the NOA person clear on what "data" he/she meant?
Never had a Wii repaired before, but have heard many times from those who have that anything WiiShop-related (and this includes RB/GH DLC, even though it's not technically purchased from "the Shop") can & most likely will be carried over to a replacement unit, which is all but for sure what you will get in return. Basically all your online data should be transferrable.
What you stand to lose forever would be regular game save data that had not been copied to an SD card. At worst, you might have to play your entire RB career over again. But any DLC purchases you made on the old Wii should be transferrable by NOA to the refurb/replacement you are gonna get back. At that point, it's just a matter of re-DLing your previous DLC, which should appear as "Purchased" in the Store.
And your replayed Mystery Setlists will be much more exciting when you have a bunch of DLC at the ready.:D

thanks. i hope it does get transferred otherwise it would have been a complete waste of cash and time to FC the songs... oh well.. once i get the replacement back it will be time to pick up my drum sticks once again to beat on 5 fast moving colors... god bless this game addictive properties lol.

I feel your pain in losing your Wii. Well, almost. A couple of weeks ago, I was downloading Fmacs' Don't Stop when the AZ monsoon zapped the power for a second. Now my Wii thinks I didn't pay for it, but wont let me dl it again. When I called Nintendo, the CS lady said the song was in limbo. I need to send in the Wii to release the song out of "limbo". After a 10 second pause of shock, I finally was able to answer her. No way! So you sir are better equipped to be Wiiless than I, as I couldn't do it! (send it in)

nintendo has to refund me some how... cuz really im not about to spend 200dollars just on extra songs and still have to pay a extra 85 for them to delete my 200 bucks of purchased material..

Quick thought, have you gone into the store and tried to donwload the songs again?
If they're not there, I can't believe Nintendo doesn't have a way to transfer your account to the new Wii. Call them and explain the situation, there's got to be a way for you to re-download what you purchased from their store.
Likely all you'll need to verify is your id and password, but that'll be confirmed when you call.

Just because the songs aren't on the Wii doesn't mean you have to re-buy them. Did you try to re-download any of them? Is it saying you need to pay? Because I often delete and re-download songs because my 4 gb card is pretty much full.
