Alright... time for part 14. We're almost at the end of round one! Here are the songs:
"Ticket to Ride"
"Twist and Shout"
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps"
Tough decision here between two really great and different songs. I think I'll go with the earlier song - "Twist and Shout" over "WMGGW" and "Ticket to Ride" which is a distant third.
"Green" is still in it, "Red" is out.
The story so far:
120 Votes "And Your Bird Can Sing" + "Back in the U.S.S.R." > "A Hard Day's Night"
113 Votes "Can't Buy Me Love" > "Birthday" > "Boys"
93 Votes "Come Together" > "Dear Prudence" > "Day Tripper"
101 Votes "Don't Let Me Down" > "Dig a Pony" > "Do You Want to Know a Secret"
131 Votes "Get Back" > "Drive My Car" > "Eight Days a Week"
125 Votes "Hello, Goodbye" > "Good Morning Good Morning" > "Getting Better"
144 Votes "Here Comes the Sun" > "Hey Bulldog" > "Helter Skelter"
96 Votes "I Am the Walrus" > "I Me Mine" > "I Feel Fine"
80 Votes "I Saw Her Standing There" > "I Want to Hold Your Hand" > "I Wanna Be Your Man"
105 Votes "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" > "I'm Looking Through You" > "If I Needed Someone"
118 Votes "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" > "I've Got a Feeling" > "Octopus's Garden"
125 Votes "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band / "With a Little Help from My Friends" > "Revolution" > "Paperback Writer"
117 Votes "Something" > "Taxman" > "The End"
The worst so far:
I Wanna Be Your Man: 7.50% in Part 9

I love all Beatles songs equally. Though I'll go with While My Guitar Gently Weeps

While My Guitar Gently Weeps > Ticket to Ride > Twist and Shout, but "WMYGGW" wins by a considerable margin.

I feel like a noob saying Twist and Shout is my favorite, but it is.
Twist and Shout > WMGGW > Ticket To Ride

Why didn't I just skip all of the early Beatles songs and do a '66 and later poll.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps wins by a long shot. The LOVE version of the song is my favorite song of all time (and it's has sentimental value to me). Even though that isn't the version in the game it's still an awesome song.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps >>>>>>>>> Twist and Shout > Ticket to Ride

WMGGW is probably my overall favorite from the game and easily the best of this group.

I voted for Ticket to Ride because I love the "my baby don't care" outro part. The bias against early Beatle songs is getting kind of annoying around here

Yeah no ****. It's almost worth giving up on these damn threads, as I can guarantee a newer song will win "best song"
Should be a bit more fair in round 2 at least because I'll go by era.

Have you guys ever wondered that the later half of the Beatles career is more popular because it's better? The Beatles didn't revolutionize music with songs like She Loves You or Help! like they did with Strawberry Fields or A Day in the Life. Their earlier songs are good, but they can't compare the the later years.

The later songs win mostly because many fans see them as the more mature better non-filler songs.

...no. There is just a serious abundance of later Beatles year fans.

Twist and Shout is like the best beatles song ever (well one of them :D) I can't believe it's in 2nd place :(

I don't think it's a bias, some people just like their later songs more than their earlier songs. I don't see what's wrong with that. That doesn't mean they hate the earlier songs, they just don't like them as much.

"WMGGW" by a country mile. And I too adore the Love 'unplugged' version of it...even more haunting than the original.
Oh, and I like the early songs too...just find myself listening to and/or thinking about "WMGGW" more than "Twist and Shout" and "Ticket To Ride". But that doesn't mean I do not like those songs.

It is true that I tend to prefer the later songs over the earlier songs. But it is also true that I still like the older songs. When the Beatles' songwriting began to diverge from mostly songs of love to other topics, the songs and lyrics consequently started to get more interesting.

This is correct. Their early career is characterized by extremely competent performances of the type of music you could hear from a dozen other pop bands at the time. That's why half of their songs on the early albums were covers, including Twist and Shout.
Their Abbey Road years is where they were writing music that didn't sound like anything else out there, and which continued to inspire new artists for decades to come. Hell, Helter Skelter could be mistaken for a late-'80s alternative song.
The last couple of polls have been a bit shaky, it's great to see the correct choice dominating this one.

Hey I like the later years too just like everyone else in here, but I also understand that even before The Beatles got to their studio only days they were already one of the most important bands ever.
It seems people tend to lump the whole early era together like they didn't make any important steps until they got to Rubber Soul or something and this is simply not true. Compare She Loves You to Ticket to Ride and you can already see a big difference.
And truth be told there are actually things the early Beatle did better than the later Beatles in my opinion like the their harmony vocals. Some of their best three part harmonies ever can be found on early records like This Boy and Yes It Is.

Absolutely, if everyone who votes holds a terribly uninformed, subjective and un-referenced opinion like this one:

whats wrong with the fact everyone likes the newer songs? I mean they arent that much newer or older than one another plus considering when they came out (63-69) they are all old! whats the point of making the thread if your just gonna get mad when we all pick while my guitar gently weeps and you go on b****ing about it? besides the real interesting parts are going to come when we pit the winners against each other so just chillax.
P.S. I picked while my guitar gently weeps.

You sent me a friends request right before you decide to tell me that? And I'm *****ing about it because this threads are pointless to make when everyone's going to be predictable, even if the song that's chosen isn't the best of the set. I realize it's all opinionated but there's that and then complete bias, which is what is obviously going on.
Great job dude

"And Your Bird Can Sing"
"Can't Buy Me Love"
"Come Together"
"Dig a Pony"
"Get Back"
"Hello, Goodbye"
"Helter Skelter"
"I Am the Walrus"
"I Want to Hold Your Hand"
"I Want You"
"Octopus's Garden"
"Sgt. Pepper..."
"The End"
and "Twist and Shout"

Well, against newer songs, you only voted for Can't Buy Me Love and Twist and Shout. I Want To Hold Your Hand was against other older songs.

I'm not actually a fan of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I don't see why people love the song so much, as these other two songs are way more solid than While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Voted Ticket to Ride.

I don't think anyone is not voting for "pre-revolver" songs just because they are older. They just prefer the "newer" songs. There's nothing wrong with them having a different opinion than you. And I definitely wouldn't call these threads predictable. I've seen a lot of surprise winners so far. Maybe not in this specific thread, but in others.
