So my Band in a Box came with one of the flaky-strum-bar guitars. I RMAed it. I figured I'd be getting a refurb'ed replacement or something otherwise cobbled together from parts that had already been in the field, combined with whatever switch they've redesigned. I'm rational enough that I wasn't expecting anything resembling a new guitar.

What I really didn't expect, though, was a guitar that had black dirt smears all over it and greasy hand prints. It wasn't just dirty, it was disgusting. Whoever is handling the RMAs for EA seriously needs to at least wipe off the guitars before sending them out.

After a few minutes and half a bottle of 409 later, I determined that the new strum bar is fantastic, and huge sections of songs that were previously impossible suddenly became playable.

I hope that future warranty claims don't end up with as gross of a guitar as I got.
