Ok so I was on a 4 duel winning streak until I went on to play tonight. I got my butt handed to me by this guy that was not that good. I started paying attention to the notes hitting and realized that my Red pad was not hitting alot of notes. It was hitting about one every 6! Then I noticed my bass pedal was skipping alot of notes. My wife was watching and stared asking why that was cause she could hear and see me hit the pad exactly when the note came down. I thought lag but the chart did looked like it was moving at the right pace. So after we were done I went out and played welcome home on hard and everything seemed to be fine. So I went back on line and ended up having to play that Freezepop song which has alot of weird beats in it and loves the red pad. This time it was worse!!! By the time the guy got to 30,000 to my 12,000 I started looking and realized the red pad was barely working at all! So I lost that one really badly. Came back out and went into my career on Expert and played Sabatage and all worked fine! Went and played some Metallica and all was still fine! Went back online and noone was there. So I was wondering if anyone else is having or has had this problem? Also if you could tell me does the computer pick songs at random in ranked matches? I have been first and I have been second player and it has never asked me to pick a song. Also exactly how does Truskill work? Thanks

I honestly don't know what to say about this. If you're positive you're not "choking up" or what have you, during online matches, then it just sounds like you've got some minor connection/lag issues. Is your version for the PS3 or 360? Not that it'll entirely matter, but you can go through some simple network settings to ensure your online experience runs just as smooth as your solo/career experience.
My only guess is connection-lag, to be brutally honest. Sorry I can't provide anything more insightful.

Thanks man.
Come to find out I am suffering once again the dreaded Red pad not functioning. So I will call in for an RMA.

To answer your other questions, song selection is random in ranked matches.
