So I've beat everything on hard with the Drums. Why does Expert Seem Impossible? I practiced Run to the Hills for 4 hours strait and still can't get past 72%!!! Are you not supposed to be able to play expert unless you're an actuall drummer? I have a very nice TV I'd like not to impale with a drumstick because I constantly fail on expert.

it seems like practice is really the key to playing on expert.. there were multiple songs i was stuck on (and new ones im currently stuck on lol) but i go into practice, play it at slower speeds, practice the hands and feet seperately, etc.. basically try to get the timing down and feel the rhythm rather than just sight read it.. that'll help alot.. just keep practicing!

even though you beat everything on hard and thats a pretty good challenge... starting with run to the hills is an exercise in frustration.. get good at mid level expert stuff before you wanna get serious with that song..

or use overdrive.

Same reason that when you first make the jump from "Hard" to "Expert" on the guitar it seems impossible.

People expect the natural progression to be: "I get 95-100 percent on every song in the game on hard, so I should be able to four stars on most songs on expert"

It doesn't work like that. Hard is a challenge, and expert is for EXPERTS.

You can "read" your way through any song on the drums on Hard. You gotta be able to feel the song on expert though.

so.. bottom line: Practice. Start at the bottom and play through solo tour until you fail a song. Then play that song till you pass it... etc. repeat.

I agree with the other posters. Being a pro drummer RTTH on expert seems easier and to be honest it really is. Look at it this way. On had you have to do a gallop pattern. on Expert is is a strait pattern. If you know the song listen to it and like the posters above me said feel the song. If you TV is calibrated to the game properly, you should be able to play with your eyes close. This is how I get through this song. In my mind I know where the beats are and instead of reading it I feel the song. Once you feel it I gurantee you will get through this song with a much higher score then you thought you would get!

Strangely, some songs are easier on expert than hard, sometimes I feel expert songs are more on the beat than hard songs.

Like this of Queen of the stone age, go with the flow? Freaking difficult hard, but easier on expert.

Yeah I've commented on that in other threads. It's because Expert is actually (for the most part) the real drum line from the songs. For Hard, they had to figure out which hits they could take out to make it easier yet still feel like the song...and on a lot of songs, they failed in that effort and actually made the song harder on Hard than on Expert :(
