Band/Character data gone by rb.com still has it?

When I started rock band 2 just now I noticed that all of my characters and band data was gone. I tried to recreate my band but it said that a band already existed with that name.

Finding that odd, I came here to see if there were already questions about it and found that this site (which I synced with rb2 the other day) still has all of my characters' data and presumably my band data.

Is there any way to sync the game with the site to update the game's memory?

There is not, you're going to have to create a new band with a new name.

Seriously? All of the data (at least the characters which would be SOMETHING) is on here and there's no way to access it? fml

Seriously. Not all of the data is there, only the character/band names and what they look like. There's a lot of data that is not there (such as progress in gigs and such), stuff that is only stored in your save game file on your console.
