Here it is! Finally! The final part of the first round. There are only two songs this time around, and this ought to be a complete and utter blowout:

"Within You Without You / Tomorrow Never Knows"
"Yellow Submarine"

Need I say anything? "Yellow Submarine"

EDIT: I guess you can't let a poll last half a day. I put in .5, and it just submitted. Oh well.

"Green" is still in it, "Red" is out.

The story so far:
120 Votes "And Your Bird Can Sing" + "Back in the U.S.S.R." > "A Hard Day's Night"
113 Votes "Can't Buy Me Love" > "Birthday" > "Boys"
93 Votes "Come Together" > "Dear Prudence" > "Day Tripper"
101 Votes "Don't Let Me Down" > "Dig a Pony" > "Do You Want to Know a Secret"
131 Votes "Get Back" > "Drive My Car" > "Eight Days a Week"
125 Votes "Hello, Goodbye" > "Good Morning Good Morning" > "Getting Better"
144 Votes "Here Comes the Sun" > "Hey Bulldog" > "Helter Skelter"
96 Votes "I Am the Walrus" > "I Me Mine" > "I Feel Fine"
80 Votes "I Saw Her Standing There" > "I Want to Hold Your Hand" > "I Wanna Be Your Man"
105 Votes "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" > "I'm Looking Through You" > "If I Needed Someone"
118 Votes "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" > "I've Got a Feeling" > "Octopus's Garden"
125 Votes "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band / "With a Little Help from My Friends" > "Revolution" > "Paperback Writer"
117 Votes "Something" > "Taxman" > "The End"
115 Votes "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" > "Twist and Shout" > "Ticket to Ride"

The worst so far:
I Wanna Be Your Man: 7.50% in Part 9

Tomorrow Never Knows > Yellow Submarine > Within You Without You

I don't care too much for Within You Without You or Yellow Submarine truthfully, although I'd have to say that I like Yellow Submarine a hair above Within You Without You. I think that Tomorrow Never Knows should have been separate from Within You Without You in the poll, despite the fact that only the Love mix of the two songs exists in the game. The only part I like in the mix of course is Tomorrow Never Knows, so I'm giving the mix the vote for that reason.

That first one is way too boring, so Yellow Sub wins by default.

It's not that great of a song. Catchy and enjoyable, sure. But not among the Beatles' best work

Tomorrw/Within is a great mashup. Yellow Submarine, while great sing-a-long wise, lacks any cool instrumentation, so the former for me.

I really can't decide for this one. Two great songs. I'll vote for Yellow Submarine just because it's losing.

either song in the mashup would be better by itself than YS... but its a mashup

Yellow Submarine, but I still really like Within You, Without You/Tomorrow Never Knows a lot.

I am going to add my voice in with those hoping for "Tomorrow Never Knows" as a track in the game to itself. One of my all time favorite Beatles songs. But with the choices we have, I still prefer the mash-up. "Yellow Submarine" is a fine track on "Revolver", but it doesn't fit the game all that well.

Also, the mash-up dreamscape is one of my three favorites in the game.

Might as well be saying "Yellow Submarine" because I like Subway.

"Tomorrow Never Knows/Within You, Without You"...it's my warm-up song every time I play B:RB. And I cannot help really liking it being a sucker for the sitar and all. Plus, it's the best mash-up on Love...though, "Here Comes The Sun/The Inner Light" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" rival it for the absolute best Love track.

BTW, I'm quite astounded to see "TNK/WY,WY" beating "Yellow Submarine"...

Yellow Submarine is fun and quirky. But anyone who can listen to it more than five times in one hour, and resist the urge to pull their brain out through their own eye sockets, is a stronger man than me.

Within You Without You / Tomorrow Never Knows is wonderfully inventive. It is also lots of fun on drums.

Another calamitous prediction in the making? :D

Seriously, "Yellow Submarine" is both well known and amusing, but it's not a patch musically on the alternative. I don't know why you're stunned to find it losing. In fact, I'm stunned that you're stunned.

EDIT: You really shouldn't be doing these polls. Your leading commentary at every instance basically makes it look like you're trying to set up a result. I'd laugh if people voted against what you're expecting purely on the basis of making your claims look foolish. Personally, I'm just voting for what I perceive to be the best/my favorite (not always the same thing).

No, I'm pretty sure people are voting WYWY because they

1.) Hate Ringo
2.) Hate well-known Beatles songs. (Are there any NOT well-known ones?)

I'm willing to accept a song I like losing, but in a situation like this, I don't see how "Yellow Submarine" could lose unless you were notoriously high on something.

WYWY/TNK is not well known at all.

Personally, Yellow Submarine doesn't seem too big with Beatles fans. Personally, I love it, but it didn't beat the other by a huge margin.

What's intrinsically obvious about "Yellow Submarine" being better that the majority here appear to be missing? Seriously dude, you seem to have trouble understanding that others don't have to share your opinions. Learn some empathy.

Yellow Submarine is really repetitive, that is why it's losing. It's cool to listen to the first few times around, but it's not one you will go back and listen to again and again after those first few times bacause there really isn't much to it

I love Yellow Submarine. I love it a lot.

But honestly... The sound, the dreamscape, and honestly, the feeling I get playing it, brings WYWY/TNK ahead in my book.
I honestly pop in that game sometimes just to play WYWY about three times and then turn off the game, sometimes.

Yellow Submarine is one of the better known Beatles songs, but I would have to say it's one of the weakest of the better known songs as well. The melody doesn't have much variety and with the slow tempo, you get a feeling of too much repitition, kinda like you're just waiting for the song to end. I haven't heard "Within You Without You / Tomorrow Never Knows" enough times so I can't vote for now.

warrenpollard

In a way this matchup isn't fair, as The Beatles never combined Within You Without You/Tomorrow Never Knows themselves. It is, however, one of my favorite combinations on Love. Yellow Submarine is charming and I like it quite a bit, but I voted for the mashup.

"WYWY / TMK" is better as separate songs but still awesome ("Tomorrow Never Knows" is one of their best"). "Yellow Submarine" is simply a completely overrated Beatles song, definitely one of the weaker in the Beatles's catalog.

hi, sober atm actually, i don't mind ringo at all and don't hate any beatles songs. i chose WYWY/TNK over yellow submarine because...it's more pleasing to my ears, but your reasons make much more sense than mine ;)

1) I have no bias against Ringo, unlike many here. He's actually a really good drummer and a decent singer.

2) I like well-known Beatles songs. "Come Together", "A Day in the Life", "I Saw Her Standing There", "Let it Be", and the like. However, "Yellow Submarine" is one of the most generic Beatles songs out there and is completely overrated. "WYWY" is a wonderfully unique piece and "TNK" is one of the Beatles's best.

I could say that you're biased against "WYWY / TNK" because you hate obscure Beatles songs.

Let's see, we have a lightweight kiddie song vs one of their most mature psychedelic works, mashed up with an innovative raga influenced classic.

And some people are actually surprised YS is losing? LOL
