I played bass/sang on Basketcase, and just played bass for Enter Sandman.
Most amazing feeling of my life, I could just drift away and forget about life, and feel the music.
SOOO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!

Did you smash your guitar?
Nice. I'm trying to start a stand up comic career and my first time up will be in almost two weeks. I hope I get the same feeling.

My first show I was nervous as hell. But, after the first song and you hear the response from the crowd, that all goes away.

Congrats. The best part is that feeling never really goes away (unless your REALLY hung over).

Nice. That must be really cool.
I'm really trying to get good enough so that I can play guitar in a band too. As much as I love Rock Band, it doesn't compare to the real thing.

That's what the cowbell is for. Just hit it in time with the music and you're all set.

I'm in the process of learning REAL drums (I can already do hard RB stuff like Won't Get Fooled Again, Shoulder To The Plow on expert, so I think I'll do good at it). Eventually, I want to join either my school band or my church's band. I can't wait to see what it feels like to play live.

Won't get fooled again is 2000% more fun on real drums. Keith moon is so fun to try and imitate.

It seems like something that would be crazy hard to get right. It would be so much more fun actually playing real drums than plastic ones.

Next step, play two songs that make sense to play together.
(congrats)

you have to go in with the thought that even Keith Moon didn't try to replicate the album. Be Keith Moon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLMc6J9h3mU). DON'T be the album. ;)
in other words, go crazy. :D

but they were wondering just where the hell was the sound guy?
he disappeared as soon as they got up there!
He was probably out behind the building rolling up a fattie,
and he was gone, until their last song!!
also, I don't think I've said Congrats! so, well, Congrats!
I want to play in a band someday.

I always mess up at least once when I go through a song.
How did you not mess up?

Kind of late on getting to this, but that's always a good feeling. I mean, just simple playing music and getting away from everything life related, that's real nice. All the problems get away, it's just you and your body limbs playing music.
I was scared crapless to play my first show to be honest. I mean, I had done drumline competitions, band concerts, marching band shows, etc., but for some odd reason, I was scared about playing with my band last year for the first time.
Glad you did a good job though! Want to continue hearing about it! ;)

Could you count the number of people in the crowd? What sort of venue was it? Did anyone come there actually to see you or where they doing other things at the venue?

Wow. That was the stupidest thing I have ever heard, what the **** were you thinking?
I insanely practice my guitar, but I still mess up every now and again, you know why? (other than that nobody is perfect)
Okay dude, if you actually play guitar you'd understand.
There are TONS of things that mess you up during a song.
Your hands get too sweaty, you hit the wrong string or fret the wrong fret on accident, etc.

When I mess up,
I flick my pick and blame it on my sweaty hands. :D
Or just play it off by setting your guitar on fire.

If you practice enough that doesn't happen. If you practice a song enough then you hardly ever make mistakes. I'm learning pretty woman and I've been practicing a couple of days and I'm already hardly making any mistakes. If you really play a lot then it just comes naturally.
