Has it been said how this exactly works for each instrument? Bass and guitar we already know, but I don't think it is called Star Power. They also used the term power up when describing it as well.

I do remember reading in an article that singers and drummers have "their own version of star power". Obviously they need to, because this is how you "save" someone that failed to bring them back into the song.

I was looking to see something during the G4 coverage at E3, because when the G4 team played, both the guitarist and bassist failed. This left just the singer and drummer playing, but they never saved the other two and brought them back in. Kevin continued to play the drums alone, while Helen from Harmonix (and Vagiant) had to desperately help the singer lol.

Tilting the mic bottom up would be a good way to activate it, as long as you got a good streak going. But what about drummers? You can stop what you're doing to push a button, and the sticks won't have anything because they're basic wooden sticks.

Anyone know, or have good ideas?

For singing, if you sing well enough you get these green bar sections where you can sing anything you want, and if you do so your score gets multiplied, and you get the vocalist form of starpower.

For drums you have little fills every once in a while, and by ending the fill with the green drum I believe, that initiates the drum version of star power.

I think thats about right. Actually i dont know if guitarists will be doing the tilt thing. Maybe they also have to hit certain sections to activate star power? Is there even a star power meter on screen or is it activated automatically?

Ohhh ok, I've seen those fill spots for the drums. I didn't know they actually were meant for the star power.

And I've seen the big green section on vocals towards the end, I guess I never noticed it during the song.

This all makes sense though. Thanks!

Good question, I hope it's not automatic. I need to use it when I can, as that's the only way I can make it through most of Hangar 18's solo lol.

Almost any video that has been posted you can see it in.

Try this video of Suffragette City:

At 47secs you'll see on the drums the note bars are outlined by the colors. That represents a fill.

After watching all the videos I can get my hands on, I think this is how it works:

Guitar and Bass work exactly like in GH. There are star power phrases where notes turn white/silverish which you have to nail. Each time you do, you fill your star power meter a quarter of the way. Tilt the guitar when your bar is at least half full to activate it.

Drums and Mic have star phrases too. For drums, the notes turn white/silver just like the guitars, and for vocals the lines turn silver. Nail the passage, you get 1/4 of your bar filled. For vocals at this point, you start getting those huge green sections for free forming anytime you're not singing. When you want to set off your power, you just have to yell something during one of those sections. For drums, you're always getting drum fills throughout the song. But when your bar is half full, hitting the crash symbol at the end of the fill sets it off. I'm not sure if there's also something you have to do during the fill, but hitting the crash is specifically what sets it off.

If anyone is failed out, anyone using their star power brings them back. However, in the Peter Moore performance, doing this also took away 1/4 of the Drummer's star power and he hadn't activated anything, so there seems to be some penalty going on. The other thing I don't quite get are Unison Phrases. I'm guessing it's like star power, but for all 4 members at the same time. If all 4 of you nail it, everyone gets half a bar worth of starpower.
