I still don't understand what the problem was, since you could buy the game by itself at the same time as the PS3 bundle (same hardware, other than no USB hub). I guess the demand to meet PS3 bundle production quotas was just too high, so they sacrificed the PS2 bundles (since they receive less profit per bundle, I would assume, due to having to pay royalties to the company they outsourced PS2 game production to).

If you have $160 to spend on the PS2 bundle, why not just do what most people do and get the PS3 bundle+PS2 game. Yes, it's $50 more (since you have to buy the game), but if you're that strapped for cash, you might want to review your decision to purchase the game in the first place, no? (I don't want this to turn into a flame war about how some might think it's stupid to buy the ps3 bundle+ps2 game, so let's please not turn it into that)

Yes, the PS2 bundle is available in the US. Copys are starting to float into various retailers depending on where you are located, shipping may take longer. I picked my copy up last night at a Gamestop in Wisconsin. However, the manager told me they only had enough copies to cover preorders. Interestingly enough, there were three copies of the PS3 version sitting out available to anyone. I was almost hoping some deluded parent would offer me $500 for my PS2 copy so I could walk right back in and buy a PS3 and the PS3 version. Yeah...I know I'm dreaming. Didn't happen. :-)
