Someone who knows my obsession with Rock Band wanted to know how they might be able to buy me Xbox "money" gift certificates, or charge up my account, as a gift this year. I imagine that MS has something like this in place (would be silly not to).
Anyway, anyone know how they could go about doing it?

Your local game retailer should have 1600 microsoft point cards...20$ if you live in america usually.

I just did this the other day. I got the 1600 points at Wal-mart for 19.97. The person purchasing this for you just takes it to the register and it's done just like a gift card. The b-word part comes when you have to enter a 25 character code over and over again.

You can enter those codes at live.xbox.com though, so you can use a real computer with a web browser instead of navigating with an on-screen keyboard.
(You can also hook a USB keyboard up to the console. There's also a clip-on keyboard for the controllers, but I do not know if it can be used for things like this -- they only advertise it as working with the instant messenger software, and at the moment I'm not prepared to make assumptions about peripheral compatibility...)

the X360 chatpad is an awesome little attachment. it can be used for any X360 text entry - IM, in the dashboard, in the games, etc...
