I've seriously never heard of them, but I'm going to the Metallica concert and I need some songs before going to see some random band. Any songs that I should know?
Also, they sound.... Satanic. Burn The Priest? I mean, do the lyrics have evil stuff in 'em? What can I expect? A ton of cussing?
I'd just like to know...

Lamb of God are a pretty popular band... honestly, they have a song in RB. That's a pretty decent reference point to their music.
Also, Lamb of God crap Satanic bibles and sell them at ridiculous costs.

Be prepared for a killer mosh pit. I know before they play Black Label at their shows, they split up the crowd and when the song starts the two halves just collide.
Their song "Laid To Rest" is DLC for Rock Band. Other songs you should know, "Black Label", "The Faded Line", "Ruin", and "As The Palaces Burn".
They're pretty damn heavy, so if you're not into that stuff, I'd just go in late to the venue just for Metallica.

Well, Lamb of God are far from satanic (they're ultra super mega uber satanic), but you're really throw away tickets to avoid seeing a band that may be singing unintelligibly about religious beliefs that differ from your own?

Sh*t dude Lamb of God was the band that got me into metal. Yeah expect some heavy stuff.
Their name is hilarious in my personal opinion because I have had many a Christian friends flipping through the ol' iPhone and thinking "Oh, Lamb of God," and blowing their eardrums out. Awesome.
Yeah there'll be cursing. They're not real heavy on the Biblical commentary anymore but back in the day they were. Depends on what they play.
I can't believe they're opening for Metallica. They're SO much better than that.

I used to be a Lamb of God superfan, enough to where I haven't touched them in 5 months and they're still in my top 20 on last.fm. Go with New American Gospel or As the Palaces Burn. Also, not Satanic nor Christian, just playing in with the other bands that tend to act satanic (i.e.: Slipknot)

Im not the biggest guy so I try and stay out of the pits, Im more of the guy that pisses everyone off by crowd surfing. I saw them at the exel center here in Minneapolis about 5 years ago and the pit there was about the size of a hockey rink. I was in the front when this happened and the force from everyone pusing broke the baricade in the front and about 50 people fell on top of me.

This song is about drug addiction and other things that will harm you in life, seen from the perspective of the drug, the man taking it, and a man who is giving advice because he has already experienced it.
Man effected by drug: "If there was a single day I could live, a single breath I could take, I'd trade all the others away." - He is saying that he has been permanently scarred by the drug and wishes he could have one day were he was normal again.
The drug: "I'll make all your dreams come to life And slay them as quickly as they came." - Saying that once you have used the drug it will be amazing but afterwards the effects will be horrible and damage your brain.
Man giving advice: "Lay this to rest console yourself you're better alone destroy yourself. See who gives a f--k." - He is saying that you're much better off without the drug and even if you do take it no one will care that you died.
There is nothing degrading about these lyrics. The core meaning is that drugs ruin your life and to stop the abuse of them.

Wow, way to have no idea what you're talking about. I'm just hoping the "very Christian" poster is kidding, but I know you're not. It's not degrading, and it's in no way more degrading than several other songs in rock band. Take your ignorance elsewhere.
As for the thread, no Lamb of God is not satanic. They are sometimes critical of Christianity/religion/"the Church," (see "Vigil") but that's not satanic. They occasionally use morbid metaphors, but once again, not satanic.
As for the moshing, it's a Metallica concert, not a Lamb of God concert. He's most likely going to be sitting down in an assigned seat, rather than GA. There will be some moshing in the GA, but a majority of the ticket holders are going to be there for Metallica and aren't going to be as many of LoG's typical meathead fans to rough people up. There may or may not be a wall of death for "Black Label" (their closing song), depending on the crowd response to LoG earlier in the show. Also note, Mark Morton isn't part of this tour (at least at the moment) due to family complications, and the guitarist for God Forbid is filling in.
Go for Lamb of God, Volbeat, and (most importantly) GOJIRA. Gojira is freaking incredible, and if you miss them, I'm going to smack you. And anyone who leaves a venue due to not agreeing with a message is a close-minded fool. Leaving does nobody any good.

It happens every year, luckily. But it's getting way too crowded now. I'm still going. I said, last time, that the ONLY band I'd go for would be Autopsy. And... well... yeah, that happened. :)
Myst - are you definitely going next year?
Also, to wolf and Sorator - If you are wondering for real, the dudes in LoG are stand-up guys and super chill (at least ChrisAdler is as he's the only one I've met). Any band with a name like that will get lots of flak for no real reason. It's music, it's entertainment, and they are *not* Satanists. They may not be to your tastes, but I assure you the guys are not skinning and burning people alive. Think about that for a second - why would they not have been arrested already?
People said the same thing about the Sex Pistols and every other "edgy" band that's come through their area. Rumors are rumors - more often than not they are grossly untrue.

In Toronto it could probably survive, but elsewhere would be pretty thin.
Put it in the SkyDome!!

I'm happy I got to see The Sword open for Metallica instead of Lamb of God when I saw them.
The Sword was opening for that entire tour. LoG was rotating with Machine Head and Down. This tour is Volbeat, Gojira, Lamb of God, and Metallica the whole time.
Myst - are you definitely going next year?
I'm starting the process of getting my tickets and looking for lodging. I'm about 99% confident I'm gonna make it this year. It is only like 90ish minutes from me, so hopefully it won't be too difficult.
Also, there are tons and tons and tons of "deathfests" around the country now. Most of them are pretty lame and terribly overpriced. It's really hard to get a good venue and enough bands while keeping the tickets reasonable.
GOODNESS, EVEN HARMONIX GETS IT WRONG! maybe you are confusing me with this (http://www.rockband.com/users/Sorator) guy? (don't worry, its not an alt that I made. It could still be someone else's alt, but it isn't mine)
I'll just change your username to make me right.
