View Full Version : Big Achievement Problem! No Rainbow Icon!

Hey, I went over to my friends house the other day to finish off the last 2 achievements that I needed. I recovered my account and got the 2 Fab & 3 Fab achievements. After about 3 hours of play I finally got my full 50/50. When I went home, I recovered my account back and went into XBL play to see the new Rainbow Icon that I thought I would unlock. It wasnt there. So I went to my icons under settings and it wasnt unlocked. Finally, I looked at my achievements and it said I had 48/50,and the 2 I unlocked were still locked. I am really miffed about this considering how hard I have worked for the cool rainbow icon. This is ridiculous! There needs to be a patch in place to fix this for people in similar situations. I will never be able to get the rainbow icon unless a patch does indeed come out. Please fix this issue! :mad:

Maybe it'll work if you just bring your Hard Drive to his house instead of recovering your account. That's the only thing I can think of to fix that problem.

It'll only work with your hard drive.
Using your account on a separate hard drive creates another file for achievements. So, that file has your achievements, the one on your hard drive doesn't.
It's the same for all Xbox games.

Maybe, but not all games have unlockables withing the game for acquiring achievements. This is extremely unfair!

On my PS3, I played The End drum solo and got the trophy. I turned off my PS3 before saving though. I had to do it again to fill out the in-game trophy list.

Your problem is that you didn't use the same save game file. Logging into your online account is all good for getting credit for the achievements on your online account. However, how is your save game file at home supposed to know that you finished the achievement when you didn't use it?
Your in game accomplishments are recorded separately, they are not one-in-the-same with your online accomplishments.
As for never being able to get the rainbow icon, you should still be able to. You will simply need to get those last two accomplishments using your save game file.

Theres nothing to fix. Beat all the achievments on your save an you will get your icon.

Ok, my friend is home for the holidays and we will try this again. I am putting my save file on a memory card, taking the MC to his house, and recovering my account on his xbox, and loading the save from the MC. Then will it work?
Why not just take the HD? unless your friend does not have internet, that would makes things alot easier for you.

Then bring your xbox.
Just unplug all the wires from the back and take the xbox over to your friends.
Or crazier idea, have your friend come to your house.

You can just move your gamertag to the memory card. No need to recover.

Yes, that. That's the MS-preferred way of doing it. The "Recover Gamertag" function is meant to be used for just that: recovering it. Like when it's lost, deleted, corrupted, etc. Not for when you're visiting your friend for a few hours.
