View Full Version : Will New Users Buy Future Games?

Just a question about whether new people will buy future games. If people got the game for The Beatles, would they buy a Rock Band 3 or other new game for the instruments you just bought? If you yourself are new, what would it take for you to consider it?
Side question, since I've been arguing this point in the regular forums. Would a keyboard peripheral be something that would make you more interested, particularly if they used the keyboard to put in something like Instant Karma or the string/horn sections of Live or Let Die?

I think a keyboard peripheral would have to be too much like a real keyboard so I do not think their will ever be one.

Yeah, if they are Rock Band:George Harrison, Rock Band:Paul McCartney or Rock Band:John Lennon.

It would depend on the future music/bands offered. If it fit my tastes yes....if not then no. With TB:RB I have no qualms with playing any song that is selected online.

I've been playing Rock Band the whole time and will buy all of their major console releases.

I've been with the Guitar Hero craze since after 2 was released but I think now is time to leave. TB:RB is most definitely my last RB/GH game that I'll buy, unless RB3/GH6 pulls something so incredible or a "must have" that will bring me back for another game.

I bought RB2 to get ready for the Beatles, and got hooked. I've already ordered Lego Rock Band, and will be waiting for news of RB3. As long as the DLC keeps including some songs that appeal to older gamers, I'll keep buying.

You know honestly, I don't know if I'll be buying RB3 when it comes, I mean a majority of my favorite music is from the 60s and the music games don't really seem to support that decade very much (Except for the Beatles: Rock Band). So for me it really depends on the setlist for 3.

I voted No, based on what's currently available. However, as Rich T, and more like HylianBowcaster said, it would depend on content. I Looked at the song lists from all the RB games and track packs, except Aerosmith. There are a total of all of 37 songs I'd be willing to listen and play to.
If a 60's track pack, or something like RB: The British Invasion, came out, or 'RB: The xxxxx', with xxxx being a band I really like, from any time period, then I would definitely be purchasing more games.
But if RB3 and any future release have song lists like the 1st to releases, then No, I won't be.
Besides, it will probably take the rest of my life to master TB:RB! :p

I was a casual player(Easy/Medium) at family gatherings.
I dove into the RB pool specifically for TB:RB. Bought the Wii console because the rest of my band(family) plays on Wii. Bought the Ricky and Premium Bundle for the Hofner Bass and I'll be getting the Gretsch soon. :D
But, Yeah, I'll be buying future games, depending on the artists/setlists.
Almost ready to graduate to Hard. I don't know if i'll ever stop playing TB:RB.
