It doesn't matter anyways. This stuff has happened before, I just find it weird as it was the 2nd time it's happened to me... well at least something relatively close to this anyways.
If you guys want to talk about flaws with the Zune Software and the iTunes software, by all means, continue. It's just that the main purpose of this thread was dead within the first 5 minutes of me creating it. And since I cannot delete threads.... yeah, you get the picture.
Sorry to everyone though.

iTunes does similar things a lot. For example, uploading my Re-mastered Revolver, it put everything in Japanese. You just go to the properties of the song and change them.

To my knowledge, everything uses the Gracenote CD database, so you'll probably experience this with any program that gets CD information online. Technology isn't perfect. Now, mind you, I despise the Zune software, but it's important to hate it for the right reasons.
I don't use that stuff. I label my music manually that way I know what it's labeled as.

This is a common problem when relying on the CDDB (now owned by Gracenote). The only indicator it has of which album is in your drive is the track lengths. If two albums have the same number of tracks, and each track is about the same length, it'll show up as the same album to the database. Such is life.
I always double-check the data it gives, anyway. The database is in no way built from official information from the labels. The first person to rip a CD gets to input whatever the hell they want for the data. I've put in several CDs from independent bands, and the track names were spelled wrong, or in the wrong order, or other mistakes of this nature. Don't trust it.

My only complaint with the Zune software is how it handles my Japanese bands (and I listen to quite a few). I usually type in the band names, album names, and song names by hand so they show up in English...inevitably though the software will eventually change the text to kanji for EVERYTHING. So I'll sit down and change it back...only to have the same thing happen. At this point I've pretty much said screw it. I've also had it upload albums with the tracks labeled the wrong names before. They'll all be the right tracks on the album, but the software will have track one labeled with track five's name for example. The Zune software can definitely be frustrating.
EDIT: I guess that's actually two complaints....

My iTunes shows Bells of Trike under the genre of 43.

Why couldn't you guys just let this thread die? I really don't care about it...

If you didn't care then why did you waste forum space with this thread? Think before you post another thread if this is how you treat all your threads.

Because I made this thread while it was ripping. I can't play the music while it's ripping to even check.
I don't treat all of my threads, maybe you should just think before you post too, eh? :p

You made the thread genius. Just because you don't have anything else to say doesn't mean other people can't have more input in the discussion.

Yeah, and I can't delete the thread once it's made genius.
Do you really think that I didn't want to delete this thread after I made it? Of ****ing course I wanted to delete it. I just didn't do nothing about it because I thought that everyone would ignore it, like I wanted it to be done.
If they want to talk about this sort of stuff, by all means, then continue. The sole purpose of this thread is and has been pointless since about 5 minutes after the thread was created.
