View Full Version : All Let It Be Songs on Rooftop?

I'm not usually too big on this era of songs... but I was just listening to the Long and Winding Road because I haven't in years. And I thought, it would be a much better dreamscape, and would be kind of weird on the Rooftop, with all the orchestra and stuff. So, do you think all songs on Let It Be will be on the rooftop like they have been on disc, or do you think there will be some exceptions for some songs like The Long and Winding Road? Or do you think we will get the naked version? Who knows?

Or they could use the naked version of Long and Winding Road, like they did with I Me Mine.

They took the unneeded production in I Me Mine so...

When they do a song that's on a live Venue Harmonix/Giles Martin(?) usually takes out the instrument tracks that wouldn't make sense, like violins and horns.

Actually, they said in an interview that, for Rubber Soul, Norwegian Wood (This Bird has Flown) will be in a dreamscape. All the Rubber Soul songs on disc are not in-studio.

Using this idea, I assume the same would go for Let it Be. I personally believe, assuming the album came to the game, Across the Universe and The Long and Winding Road would be dreamscapes, with Let it Be being a possibility.

In the current songs on the rooftop, I don't believe there is a piano to be played. So, to avoid it being awkward, it would probably be a dreamscape.

Get Back and I Want You have a keyboard, if that counts. Also, I Want You was probably on the rooftop simply because it fits in with it and wouldn't have made much of a dreamscape anyway. Same with other songs on the rooftop, they probably wouldn't make much of a dreamscape. But something like Across the Universe or the Long and Winding Road, there's great potential for a good dreamscape. Technically, it would work. The Let It Be songs were all recorded before the Abbey Road ones, which are dreamscapes. Technically, if the game wanted to be really historically specific, the Rooftop would be played and there would be a few more dreamscapes afterwards.

I actually see the "I Want You" in the game as an actual dreamscape.

Towards the end, it kind of gets that way. I'm guessing they wanted to have everything turn to black, but thought they could do it without having an actual dreamscape.

This is how I think it would be:

Two of Us - Rooftop
Across the Universe - Dreamscape
Dig It - It could go both ways but I would say Rooftop
Let it Be - Dreamscape
Maggie Mae - It could go both ways but I would say Rooftop
One After 909 - Rooftop (obviously)
The Long and Winding Road - Dreamscspe
For You Blue - Rooftop

Out of the songs I know, that looks about right. If the song is based on guitar, bass, and drums, it's probably Rooftop.

True. Another thing that supports this is that "Yellow Submarine" is the only song from Revolver to be in the studio.

And yeah, the game sacrifices some historical accuracy for the game. For example, its not like Paperback Writer was the last song recorded before Sgt. Peppers, but because it was the last original song they played live, it made sense. The rooftop is a good end because you come full circle, IMO.

Yeah, I believe that some songs are put in a venue simply by the way they sound, and fit into a time period where it can be confusing. For example, Revolver, where they can fit in either Budokan or Abbey Road. Yellow Submarine just had to be a dreamscape for obvious reasons. Taxman and And Your Bird Can Sing though are both simple songs that can be played with the three basic instruments. I'm sure that's really the only reason they aren't dreamscapes. Also, if Revolver is released at a later date, I believe most of the songs will be dreamscapes.

Fixed!;), I actually think that it would be awkward to see Paul playing a guitar instead of a bass in the Rooftop, it should be a dreamscape. For the rest of the songs, I agree. It's even more awkward to see Paul playing piano on the Rooftop.

The exact way I see it.

I still say there should be a Billy Preston avatar in some songs... Especaily when there are references to him everywhere in the Photos and the "Get Back" promo film unlockable.

And I don't care if it doesn't fit the time line, give him the awesome Afro he had in the 70's.

Good, but..."For You Blue" needs to have John sitting down while playing the guitar; that type of guitar play can only be accomplished while sitting down.

(unless you're REALLY good at the slide guitar)

Of all the songs in Let It Be, the only one I'd say is definitely in the Rooftop is One After 909, for obvious reasons.

The rest is either a dreamscape for obvious reasons as well (Across The Universe and The Long and Winding Road) or could fit in both ways.

No, but we were just thinking of the possibilities for when it will possibly be on the game.

Well, most of us are assuming that most of the albums are coming... Besides, I don't see how it is "pointless".

'909' is the only one I see getting on the roof. Everything else I'm guessing will be in the studio ('Let It Be' should be a rather tearjerking dreamscape)

Hell yes. And an entire Indian orchestra for 'Within You Without You'

I can really picture the Beatles on a starry background, similar to the verse of LSD, and 'jai guru deva om' appearing in golden, flowing script for Across the Universe.

A close-up of John's face as he sings, like in the dreamscape for LSD. Lights exploding behind him.

Fab.

Yes I think that they should have all dreamscapes, except One After 909, it'd be great.

But my main question kind of is... Will Harmonix allow the dreamscapes? I mean, the Let It Be songs all fit perfectly in the Rooftop time period.

and, remember paul plays piano on that song, no bass guitar at all (I think)

They may fit the time period but they don't fit the venue. Let it Be, for example, would have to be a dreamscape. They aren't going to haul a piano up on the roof for Paul. Look at Yellow Submarine. It fits the time period to be a Budokan but it's a dreamscape because it wouldn't work right if it was live. The same applies to Let it Be.

If Across the Universe gets put into the game, I'd hope it would be the Naked version. I'm most likely preaching to the choir, though.
Anyway, I agree with pretty much everything concerning dreamscapes said in this thread.
