I spent the whole morning on either a bus or a train, and I never went anywhere... and I was thinking of some memorable times I've had on the CTA... And a twitter post by HMXHenry made me decide to post a thread about it. I want to hear your stories too.

4 years ago I was on a bus to go to school and a homeless lady dressed in shopping bags stumbled onto the bus and payed her fair(I'm... not sure how). She then pulled out a shoe box and started talking into it. What she said? "GIRRRRRRRL SOMEONE STOLE MY DAMNED CHEESE FROM THE HOTEL ROOM"

2 weeks ago I was on the train and this couple started arguing. After 5 minutes someone joined in... 8 minutes later? The rest of us in the train car chanted "Jerry".

4 months ago I was riding the bus home from GameStop and this guy in a tanktop and jeans got on the bus, payed his fair and sat down. He then pulled out a cigarette and talked to it... in the character of Beavis from Beavis and Butthead.

ALL OF THESE ARE TRUE STORIES.

Any of you have any stories?

As many Chicagoans can probably guess, taking the Metra Rock Island line is always fun on the day of the south side Irish parade. Tons of drunks, people making dirty jokes, guys fighting over girls, piss everywhere but the toilet, cops getting on at every stop to take people off and cuff them... good times, my friends. Good times. It's a shame they aren't doing the parade anymore.

Two years ago, we took the train to the parade, and I drank two flasks of Goldschlager on the platform waiting for it to show up. By the time we got there (and it was only a few stops, we got on in Tinley Park) I was drunk as ****. On the way back, I pissed in the sink on the train. Ah, memories!

I'll reserve this spot for later use. Living in New York, I have stories, but it's too late for me to think of any of them. I'll edit this eventually with some stories.

Ok, so, let's see..

I was on a bus with a woman who claimed to have practically raised Barack Obama when he was a child, and that Michael Jackson was murdered by the Los Angeles District Attorney's office. She also refused to let an old Jewish man sit next to her, because he "smelt too bad." The next week or so, this same smelly guy was on the bus, and got into an argument with other people because of change for his fare, despite the fact the bus driver himself had paid for the man's ride.

On the subway, I heard a guy with a heavy French accent curse out a young woman and her boyfriend. Ironically, he kept bringing up her lack of manners, as he continued to curse excessively.

Those two stick out the most, but I'll update this post if I remember more.

I once took a bus... it was the worst day of my life.

*starts crying*

Also, after visiting my then girlfriend in Boston five years ago, I ended up missing my bus to go home and had to spend 10 hours in the New York Port Authority. Not in the middle of the day though. I was there from 11 pm to 9 am. Do you realize how many homeless people stay in that place? A LOT. That place is scary in the middle of the night. Like you gonna get mugged and stabbed by some homeless man yelling at Japanese tourists for no reason scary.

Going into college everyday was a hour long bus trip, I used to use that time efficently by sleeping for a good 55 minutes of it.

One time I woke up and my arm, which was resting on the little window ledge bit, was reaching to the seat infront of me and my hand was on this chicks waist. Not just a little bit, like with some light grabbing force.

She didn't say anything or do anything so either she knew I was asleep or was just to freaked out to say anything. Maybe both.

Another quick story!

I used to get crazy travel sickness on busses. Got to the point that when on school trips they'd sit me up the front and give me a bucket. So i ended up throwing up in the bucket, then i was all embaressed so i tried to conceal it from everyone, but then i fell asleep and dropped the bucket. It wasn't pretty. This was back when i was like 8 though, in the first story i was 20-21.

Two years ago I went to see a bruins game with my sister, her bf, and his brother. After the game, the bruins won btw, we were taking the T back to quincy adams, and there were a bunch of other kids from the bruins game that were on it too.

It just so happens that half of the kids were from BU and the other half were from BC. All it took was one kid to start shouting "BBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEE UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, BBBEEEEEEEEEEE UUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" and an all out brawl went down. Fists were flying everywhere and one kid stood in the door way so the train couldn't move while they duked it out. It was quite entertaining.

These are fairly short:

I witnessed a woman complaining about another woman making a mess by eating on the bus. The same woman proceeded to clipping her toe nails on the bus.

I saw a man crap his pants on the bus. He then proceeded to wiping the **** from his ass on the floor.

During rush hour, there was a fire at one of the stations my train was heading towards. We were in between stations, so we had to evacuate the train by foot and walk though the tunnels.

Again during rush hour, a young woman suddenly collapsed and had seizures on train. This itself isn't too weird, but I ran into that woman again on the train, and again she started having seizures.

A drunk woman kept complaining whenever someone sat near her. She also hurled racial slurrs at pretty much every other ethnicity on the bus.

I left drunk one night and was taking public transportation home. I vomitted in the train, station, and the bus. Last thing I remember on the train were transit employees hosing the floor down, and throwing saw dust on the affected area.

OK, mine is kind of boring

I was on the bus going back to campus. This one guy get on, sits nearby, and begins talking to me. The problem was, he was talking too quietly for me to understand me. I spent the rest of the ride just pretending to listen to this guy and nodding my head in agreement every once in a while.

Later on, I saw his picture in the paper and it turns out he was running for mayor. In another article a few days later, I found out he has been running for various government offices for quite a number of years.
