There are three tests I used when I chose these songs. The first test was whether or not people are going to actually know these songs. One of the worst things when people recommend packs to people who may not know a band is when they recommend material that matches their tastes, but doesn't necessarily present something that a gamer in general may like. The second test is that the songs should all have strong vocals, bass, electric, and drum parts. A lot of people chose songs because they have a really good vocal track or drumming, but the bass is too subtle to be enjoyable. The game is ROCK BAND, not Guitar Hero or Singstar. The third test is that it has to be the right length. If it's too long or the build-up takes forever, then the song is going to become less enjoyable. There's a huge difference between casually listening to a six minute song and having to actively drum or wait for extended periods of time for your part to start up. Another bonus is that I chose songs that have points with background vocals.
With that it mind, here are my KISS pack picks-
Song 1 - God Gave Rock and Roll To You II (1992)
I chose this one because it's a very popular song, not just by KISS fans, but by anyone with any fond memories of Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. I also believe there's a request thread just for this specific song. As a more modern rock track in the band's catalog, it's a necessity. Additionally, the song features moments by all key instruments (though the bass may be slightly weaker then wanted, due to the loud electric guitars).
Song 2 - Love Gun (1977)
This is one of the lesser known songs by the band, even though it was a bigger hit in the late 70s. I chose this song SPECIFICALLY because of the machine gun drums, the active bass, the guitar solo that descends into madness, and the screaming vocals. Every base is covered in this song and it guarantees that every band member is going to be active throughout the song.
Song 3 - I Was Made for Loving You (1979)
I chose this song because it strongly utilizes a bass opening and is a song that is very widespread. The bass is pronounced, the drums can be heard easily, there's a short guitar solo, and the song has really cool parts that lets the whole band sing together.
Song 4 Lick It Up (1983)
It's hair metal, it still gets a lot of airplay, everyone knows the song, and every instrument gets a lot of use. Nothing more to say, really.
Song 5 Shout it Out Loud (1976)
It's one of the big anthemic arena songs that KISS did back in the 70s. We've been able to guitar to Rock and Roll All Nite and we've been able to jam to Detroit Rock City, so it only makes sense to bring out the third big one: Shout it Out Loud. A cool thing about this song specifically is that the bass and the electric both start out the song playing the same riff.
Song 6 Creatures of the Night (1982)
This is probably the heaviest song I've included, and it's going to be the only one that non-fans may not recognize. What made me decide on this song, though, is that it will appeal to gamers that want to play along with something that may be a little "darker" than I Was Made for Loving You.
Back-up Choice- Black Diamond
Why I didn't pick it- It's too long, too slow and the guitar solo, while Frehley's best, is just too drawn out to use. The drums are great, the guitars are great, and the vocals are blistering, but the bass also might be too subtle. I would recommend it, though, if there was a way to ultimately shorten the track, keep all the good, and dispense with all the waiting by other band members.
So there you have it. My recommendations for a KISS pack.

I support this, especially God Gave Rock And Roll To You!
Can we just get Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey soundtrack as a DL Album? There are soooo many good songs on that CD. Or at least just Go To Hell from Megadeth and The Perfect Crime by Faith No More!

I'm a long time KISS fan & think your have picked a few good songs but I'd also consider:
She (prefer ALIVE! version - great band jam at end)
Calling Dr. Love
I Want You
Cold Gin (prefer ALIVE! version)
Parasite (prefer ALIVE! version)
Christine Sixteen (prefer ALIVE II versiopn - no piano which beefs up the guitars & bass in the sound - plus great lyrics to sing)
I Stole Your Love
and yes I would include Black Diamond - yes its longer but who cares.
Sory wouldn`t include I Was Made For Lovin You or God Gave You Rock & Roll - don`t think they are strong songs. I Was Made could be included if you put it on as a live version & have the disco stripped from it (good song though).
While I think some of my choices are a little less popular, I think most KISS fans would agreed I pick fro mthe 70`s era, which has their most familar music.
Maybe break their stuf into a 70`s pack & 80`s pack

The point of my picks were to choose songs that people DO know. If people see a KISS pack and look at the track list, it entirely makes sense to include songs that gamers will generally know. Otherwise, the only people that will buy the KISS pack would be hardcore KISS fans, and that's a waste. I mean, if I were just putting together a list for myself, I'd have Magic Touch and Danger, but this is an "ultimate" list that the common fan or casual rock fan can enjoy.

Even KISS focuses most of their Live material on their heyday era, which was the 70's - it is the most well known part of their catalogue, hence you should start there. Don't get me wrong they have some quality stuff after 1980, I just don't think it is as known as the 70's stuff as even KISS plays to their strengths.
Any songs I would include after 1980 that might be known would be:
Lick It Up
Heaven's On Fire
I Love It Loud
Forever ... and that's about it. They have some great some great songs, but most their memoable hits were in the 70's.
What are the 3 songs they are mainly known for??
Rock & Roll All Nite
Beth
I Was Made For Lovin You
... these are the 3 songs anyone would probably know. Anyone I have ever met that is not a KISS fan will list one of these songs, when I mention I'm a KISS fan.
God Gave RNR was minor hit a best, Forever was a bigger hit (top 10 charting), but don't think it would fit in Rock Band. While God Gave RNR did chart higher than Lick It Up, I think LICK IT UP is a stronger song & has had a lasting appeal that GOD GAVE RNR doesn't. The same goes for a song like Tears Are Falling - it charted one spot ahead of God Gave.., but again the lasting appeal just isn't there to make people remember it.
Creatures of the Night is a great tune, but I Love It Loud has maybe the heaviest drums ever recorded, plus it is more of a hit (minor one). So I would include this song instead, if you wanted to pull a song from post 1980.
Don't get me wrong I like your selections, but if you are solely making a pack of the really known hits then the 3 I mentioned from the 70's would be the big ones. Would they all work in Rock Band... no.
Tweak your track listing to the following & I think you'd have the most popular KISS songs covered that will work the best in Rock Band...
1) ROCK & ROCK ALL NITE (their biggest hit)
2) I WAS MADE FOR LOVING YOU (not a fav of mine & not sure how it would play with it's over done disco production, but nonetheless it was a big hit)
3) SHOUT IT OUT LOUD (gotta agree with you here)
4) I LOVE IT LOUD (as I said it has an awesome heavy drum sound, nice compact guitar solo and a bass track that lays down a good foundation for the song to help drive it).
5) LOVE GUN (not sure how well known this track would be to the avg gamer, but I think it is a great track to include anyway. It was a "hit" in the 70's)
6) LICK IT UP (not a fav of mine, but it would probably play better than Beth or Hard Luck Woman, etc)

MY Ultimate KISS Pack that would work well in Rock Band would include:
LOVE GUN
SHOUT IT OUT LOUD
CALLING DR LOVE
SHE (Alive version)
PARASITE (Alive version)
BLACK DIAMOND (Alive version)
*** this list could change, but I think all these songs have great parts to keep everyone happy. May not be the most popular songs, but they are what I like.

It wouldn't make any sense to replace a song like Lick It Up with an obscure song.

...Can we just get Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey soundtrack as a DL Album?...
I concur. Get some "Shout It Out" by Slaughter, some "Battle Stations", but, of course - why not the "Reaper Rap"?
You might be a king, or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later - you dance with the Reaper!

I'd love to download "No, No, No" just for the opening guitar solo! The rest of the song sucks, though. :D

I would download the entire KISS catalog for Rock Band if the songs were available (how about a "buy 10, get 2 free" kind of deal?)...get Gene on the phone!

Any KISS albums you'd want to see for dlc??
I'd select:
LOVE GUN
DRESSED TO KILL
My ultimate would be ALIVE! and ALIVE II, but that might be cheating since they aren't studio albums. But these have the best mix of songs and the versions on them are killer.

When it comes to full album downloads, honestly, Creatures of the Night, Destroyer, KISS, and Dynasty really are the only albums with enough AAA songs. Of those, Creatures of the Night is quite possibly the best choice.
