View Full Version : Can you use a GH3 or any other Guitar Hero guitar with RB?

Im thinking about getting RB for PS3 and I have heard (only once tho) that you can't use GH guitars with RB. Is this true? Thanks in advance!

On the ps3 version you currently can't use the gh3 guitar with rockband. We might get compatibility or we might not, all depends on if activision is going to continue to screw us over.

That pisses me off. the whole reason I bought GH3 for ps3 is because I thought I could use the guitar. Now I am a guitar short.

i just bought the game 2 hours ago and i tried to use my guitar hero 3 guitar and it thinks its a mic come on wtf is that and and on the xbox 360 u can use the guitar hero 3 guitar good f***ing going rock band makers for ps3

Don't blame Harmonix- blame Activision for designing their guitar software differently. PS3 owners seem to always get the shaft.:mad:

Does anyone know? Every guide about this I find seems to forget that every week the PS2 is the top-selling console there is (or Wii, but whatever), and that most gamers still have one. Do PS2 GH2 guitars work with PS2 Rock Band?

If you read the new articles, Activision wants money for the patch that will let PS3 players use the GH3 controller. First I was angry, but then I remembered that Activision was forced to pay Harmonix for the use of their tech in the GH3 controller. I guess turnabout's fair play, though it sucks to the customer. That being said, I am still waiting for my mic, 30 days and 5 calls later.

I am using a PSLGH Red Octane wired guitar along with the PS3 bundle and the PS2 game on my PS2 console with no issues at all.
