How did you expect to download Xbox Live content without Xbox Live?

I was really not sure of that, it was my main worry, but i think i'll just go to a freinds house who has xbox live, put in my hardrive connect and download the songs there

^If you do that you have to bring your whole xbox with your hardrive.


You only need a silver account (http://www.xbox.com/NR/exeres/F925FE0C-E310-491A-82E0-7A604A353BFB.htm) what just needs the internet.

To be clear, buying DLC requires a FREE Silver Xbox Live account in the very least. If you have internet, and can connect your 360 to your router then you can buy and download the DLC.

You do NOT need to be an Xbox Live Gold subscriber (which costs $50 a year) to buy DLC.

All the more reason to own a PS3. My xbox won't let me play my DLC for RB unless I'm signed in to LIVE. My PS3 doesn't give me this problem.

Ok you do not NEED to be a "Gold" Xbox Live user to buy/download content, only "Silver." And Silver comes free with your Xbox Live registration/gamertag.

But yes, you obviously need to be connected to the internet to download songs. Just want to make sure both issues are covered lol.

Have you tried using the License transfer utility yet? If not, problem solved.

You don't need to be connected to live to play your DLC. The licenses are attached to both your gamertag and your console (for any DLC not just Rock Band DLC). So long as you downloaded the content on your console with your gamertag you don't need to be on live.

The exception would be if you've had the xbox repaired or replaced recently without transfering the licenses, or already used the license transfer once this year - then you would need to be on XBL to verify the license.

There is no requirement to be online to play Rock Band.

Obviously your Xbox has been replaced. You just need to do a license transfer to fix this.

No. If you are offline on the Xbox that you ORIGINALLY DOWNLOADED THE DLC TO, it will work.
