Guidance Needed

I'm a PC gamer(about 20 years) and never have owned a console but
this game of Rock Band has me a little worked up.

I think i'll go for the PS3 because of the bad press that the 360 has had.
I don't need the stress of wondering when the thing is going to blow up.

I've got a 600watt surround sound amp with a set of Bose surround speakers.
Will I need to run the game through this set-up or will the PS3 give me plenty
of good sound as is?

Yeah I think you'll need to run it through the amp because the ps3 won't connect to the speakers directly. I'm pretty sure its got an opitcal out for the audio which = 5.1 *thumbs up*

You'll want to run your sound through your system. How else would you do it? If you've got SS, its the only way!

I wasn't sure if just the stereo speakers on the tv
were good enough or if I should plug into my amp.(more wires you know)
