Missed-note Sound in Guitar Hero...HMX

But if anyone has an album version of Butthole Surfers - Pepper, around 10 seconds in there's a noise when the music stops.

It ALWAYS reminds me of missing a note in Guitar Hero

HMX! Is this noise the inspiration for the famous "screeching" missed note sound? I'm on to you!!

hehe, props on being a butthole surfers fan, but the sound is similar, but not exact. Of course I've never compared the 2 side by side, but I think I've heard them both enough to know it's not an exact match. That said, everyone needs to listen to Independant Worm Saloon imo, the most balls out in your face rock album of all time. Of course I been drinking Jack and singin alchohol for a while now so my judgement may be impaired a bit but I stand by my convictions. Dog inside your body is one of the greatest songs ever!

but yeah, that sound could have been the inspiration.
my theory is that somebody was playing guitar in HMX's office, and hit that note somehow, and they liked it, so the recorded it as the "miss" sound effect.

All the time. I guess being an addict will witness this. I always tend to here this noise since I do have a very high gamescore and I have heard that noise sooo much. lol
