Here here is my attempt at a set list - may not be ultimate, but hopefully it is entertaining...

KISS - Love Gun (great guitar part with machine gun drums)

CHEAP TRICK - Go For The Throat (Use Your Own Imagination) - every instrument is active in this song - this song is controlled chaos. Yes, it`s not their most popular song, but it is a good song that would lend itself to the band part of the game.
CHEAP TRICK - Need Your Love (or use this song if the last CT song wasn`t for you - great band jam at the end with some great vocals too) OR use DREAM POLICE if you want a more popular choice.

THE CULT - Dirty Little Rockstar (very active bass with some great guitar florishes highlight this song)

BUDGIE - Breadfan (interesting song with a killer riff & a nice build with the bass & drums - yes it has a slow middle bridge, but I think it adds interest to the song with vocals & guitars highlighted together).

KING`S X - Over My Head (Great Song - nice lyrics & guitar in this one)

BOOTSAUCE - Everyone`s A Winner (Canadian band that has active bass & catchy guiar riff) or try Scratching The Whole if you like this song better.

U2 - Elevation (It`s U2 - everyone should know this one)

OZZY - Over The Mountain (great little drum intro, guitars by Randy Rhodes, nuff said)

LOVERBOY - Turn Me Loose (everybody gets a chance to shine a little in this song - drummer has a cymbal beat at start, bass comes in second, while guitar part has flourishes, finally the singer has his chance to belt it out - yes another Canadaian band)

ROD STEWART - Hot Legs (great song - nice guitar with a steady rhythm section & nice vocals by Rod)

MUDHONEY - Suck You Dry (for the Rock Band player who likes total chaos)

JOE WALSH - I Can Play That Rock & Roll (Yes, the guitar is the main focus, but there is still plenty to hear in the bass line & the steady drums - oh Joe sings too!)

ECONOLINE CRUSH - Make It Right (Yep another band from Canuck land - starts slow with the bass & vocals, but then kicks you in the face with everything)

DEF LEPPARD - Rock Of Ages (No Leppard in any game! - guitars & vocals are the focus of this song)

APRIL WINE - Roller (Canuck band again - yes the guitar is the main focus of this song, but the other band members have moments too).

ARC ANGELS - Livin`In A Dream (guitar focused song, but you can actually hear the bass in the mix - like the vocals too).

VAN HALEN - Hot For Teacher (What`s not to like here - drum intro, Eddie on the six string, solid bass line & Diamond Dave on Vocals)

EAGLES OF DEATH METAL - Cherry Cola (guitar drives the song, the vocals have a nice hook & may contribute to a few sonny noises when guiys try to reach the high notes, plush the bass & drums add some depth to the song).

KIM MITCHELL - That`s A Man (very defined music parts in this siong - you can hear the bass, guitar & drums as they seem to be together, but the mix keeps the seperate too so you can hear them. Gotta like the tongue in cheek lyrics too - and its Canadian too).

LENNY KRAVITZ - Are You Gonna Go My Way (Yes, the guitar is the driving force, but don`t forget the driving bass line & thumping drum parts too. Plus add some emotion in Lenny`s singing & you`ve got a winner)

VELVET REVOLVER - Pill, Demons & Etc (Great Song - has a catchy as hell chorus, great guitar riff with a steady bass & drums that keeps the song moving in a certain dribving groove)

THE WONDER STUFF - Poison (I like this song for the drum & bass that keeps this song moving, plus the song has some great lyrics & a guitar frenzy that add a layer to the song)

Jonny Lives - Get Steady (this song has it broken in sections or areas that gives everyone a chance to be heard)

BUCKCHERRY - Everything (while i like this song, it is nit my fav track by them, but it lets evey member be heard in the tempo & mix - vocals & guitar may be most interesting parts of the song)

GOB - Oh Ellin (love the catchy appeal of the chorus - Canadians again)

MONSTER MAGNET - See You In Hell (Yes I know it has a keyboard line in it, but damn it, the song has got a catchy appeal to it - plus the bass line really carries this song)

LOVE-HATE - Why Do You Think They Call It Dope (Love the smart ass lyrics, & the way the guitar & bass play off each other)

THE CARS - You`re All I Got Tonight (Like the progression of this song - would fit well with Rock Band)

STEVE MILLER BAND - Take The Money & Run (chance for everyone to be heard on this track - good mix)

TALKING HEADS - Psycho Killer (nice base intro, & the guitar is used almost as filler in parts - challenging vocal parts, singer has to wear an oversized suit when he performs the song)

JOE JACKSON - I`m The Man (love the high steppin drive to this song - something for everyone here)

THE TREWS - Not Ready To Go (Guitar heavy, but the drums & bass can be heard in sections - nice chorus for the singer too - oh they are Canucks too!)

RUSH - Spirit Of Radio (One of the most famous Canuck bands! Love this whole song!)

Ok - That`s it!

Oh forgot, you can also add:
DIRE STRAITS (Sultans Of Swing), ROBERT PALMER (Bad Case Of Lovin You), THE DOORS (Hello I Love You), THE KINKS (Lola), QUEEN (Another One Bites The Dust), GRAND FUNK RAILROAD (We`re An American Band), GOLDEN EARRING (Radar Love), PETER FRAMPTON (Show Me The Way), BROWNSVILLE STATION (Smokin In The Boys Room), SUPERTRAMP (Bloody Well Right), FLEETWOOD MAC (Go Your Own Way), THE EAGLES (Hotel California) and TOM PETTY (American Girl),

YOU need to be working for Harmonix!

They would sell a ton because your ear for what is ROCK is DEAD ON!

YOU NAILED IT!

Every single one of the songs listed belong in a video game where you have a drummer, a bassist, a guitarist and a singer or a combination of them.

Awesome, awesome list.
