i think mines took a couple days to go from billing info received to being scanned for transit. three days sounds right, unfortunately since today is friday, i dont think they pick up on saturdays. and i dont know how they are handling christmas eve, so you may not even see a change till the 26th. what did ea's support page say?
i know i checked both that page and the ups# frequently. ea claimed "parts shipped" when really it was probably packaged and ready to go, but ups hadnt really picked it up yet so technically it did not ship. and it never showed up in transit until they next business day. the billing info is provided instantaneously. i think the support system must be set up so that when you submit your rma it automatically prints a UPS shipping label based on what instrument you are filing for and assigns it to the rma, and that becomes your tracking#, which actually is a nice convenient system.

just hope i doesn't take weeks like other people

Billing info received means that EA has printed out a stamp to mail item but not sent it yet. The trucks scan the same day, so if its been like 2 days, you know that its just sitting in EA's warehouse. Mine's been "billing info received" for over 3 weeks now. Every time I call support they say they can't do anything, or lie and say its already been shipped and I should receive it soon. Either way, last EA game I will ever buy. I think I will stick with World of Warcraft.

Same problem here.
Did express order on Sunday, December 16th. It's already Saturday, December 22nd.
Why do they promise 2-3 days if they can't do it?

bah
and if harmonix is really off for a week next week for christmas then that's a whole lot more waiting for us
at least keep the warehouse open and shipping!
I'm just scared my card is going to be charged for doing nothing but waiting for my guitar

Same things happened to me as well. But i got a good laugh out of my first horror story.
I went for the standard replacement, took over a week before i got the empty box. But while i was waiting for that box i called up and went for the express replacement, said it would take 4 days to get. So when i did get my empty box from the normal replacement, they had sent me a xbox360 guitar replacement when i needed a base petal replacement for the ps3. and the paperwork in the box said ps3 drum kit replacement. So i had a good laugh at that, cause that takes some seriously stupid people who can't read to make that mistake.
and still waiting for my express exchange, still hasn't been shipped. it's been 10 days, when i was told 4.
The big issue i see is that they only go through UPS. If they went through FedEx and DHL also, they would be able to get the replacements to people faster with 3 delivery companies, instead of overloading 1 company.

at least I'm not the only one in this boat
it's not fun playing a game strumming only upwards

It doesn't matter if Harmonix is off for the next week since all of the replacement instruments and parts are shipped from a EA warehouse in Michigan. The replacements are not connected to Harmonix as far as shipping them out in any way. Harmonix just created the software. I just created an RMA yesterday and they have already boxed up my drum pad replacement and it is just waiting for UPS to pick it up on Monday since UPS doesn't work on weekends. Hope this helps!

I don't like DHL, I've gotten squished packages from them before. Doesn't happen with UPS (at least not yet). I order a lot of stuff from places like amazon.com. I just had a feeling that if I let them "hold" 125$ it'd take just as long as the standard replacement and I'd be out 125$.
So, placed RMA 12/3. Still waiting on guitar. In EA's defense, they've always given me tracking #s and I've been able to keep track of the shipping. I'm just waiting for my guitar to come now.

UPS tends to screw up more often on the holiday seasons. I used to work for a UPS outlet and around the holidays we'd always get calls about delayed packages. I think that the problem is with the ridiculous amount of packages being sent around this time of year.
Around this time of year the workers feel that they do not have enough workers, are working overtime more often, and feel underpaid. This is coming from UPS delivery/pickup men that I used to talk to. Workers are tired, mistakes as well as theft happen more often. Also, there is not enough room for every single box on a truck/plane so some boxes have to wait for the next pickup/transfer. Boxes accidentally get sent to the wrong address. Boxes are accidentally put on the wrong trucks/planes. Etc...
If EA screwed up your replacement they are probably in the same boat. They probably didn't plan on having to replace so many instruments every single day. Companies usually plan for bad things to happen but it usually turns out much worse than expected.
With that being said, it took me 4 days to receive the first guitar, 3 days for the drum kit, 4 for the bass pedal, and for the second guitar... well they sent me an empty box.

yeah I was thinking about that after I posted too
hopefully I'll get it by monday if it's picked up then
I'm also not a fan of DHL
they tend to suck at delivery when I get a shipment from them

I took standard since I didn't have $125 on a CC that I could use for express. I got the container on the 9th, mailed it out that following monday (the 10th) it's been 13 days since I dropped off the package at the UPS store. According to the tracking number I got off the return package it's been "Out For Delivery" since the 11th which was 12 days ago. Its driving me nuts because I know I won't have my replacement guitar until the new year.

I am also glad mine didn't take that long. I put in my express replacement request for new drum pads on 12-22-07. I checked the UPS site and they are in transit now and are scheduled to be delivered on 12-26-07. I can't complain about that.
