Drums not connecing.... (PS3 Version)

Can some one, please, explain to me how to connect the drums to my PS3.

This is how I did it:
1. Put drums together
2. Plug the kick drum into the pads
3. Plug the USB cord from the pads to the PS3 USB ports
4. Pressed the PSN button on the pads, but it won't connect

If there is anything you did different please let me know.

If I did it correct, but won't connect, do you think my drums are faulty/defective?

What about the PS light? Does it stay on solidly? Or blink?

if youre trying to turn on the ps3 using the ps button on the drums it wont work. the usb ports are not powered when the ps3 is in standby mode. same goes for the wireless strat.

if the drums arent connecting when the ps3 is on (you can use the drums as a regular controller to navigate the xmb) then try switching usb ports. if it still doesnt work, sorry but you probably will need to request a warranty replacement.

yea i have the PS3 already on and i try press the psn button to turn it on but nothing happen (not even the red not, just nothing). well, thanks for your help

WOW!! it worked the first time?!?!? Mine never worked at all. So I went to Best Buy and exchanged it.

Ok...just got this for Christmas...and got everything plugged in and the drums started workn then they quit....What is going on....does anyone know?

Got Rock Band today. Plugged in Mic first then guitar and they both worked fine. Played songs etc. Then put drums together and plugged them in to all four USB ports (60G PS3) and got a pop up reading (An unknown USB device has been connected) and my PS Red Light is solid not blinking. What the **** Please Help Techies!!!

You have to buy a usb hub to play this game correctly I've heard on the official playstation forums.
