Just wondering, anyone hear news about if there's going to be region lock on the 360 version?
I sure hope there isn't, cause I am living in Asia, GH2 360 version took 6 months to get here, and still no DLC available now. :(

Dunno that kind of stuff never really hits the news. Try sending a message to Sean.

region coding is likely up to EA not HMX. I don't know what EA's history is with region coding on the 360.

EA usually is region-locked (Madden, NBA Live, etc), while Activision is usually region-free (Marvel Ultimate Alliance, CoD, GH2, etc.).
That said, I don't know if it EA's call or MTV Games' call. I figure if they can work out licensing issues for DLC for different areas of the world, it will go region-free. Being such a DLC-oriented game, it may have to be region-locked.

Thank you for the replies, guys.
Yeah, I suspect as much, EA titles are usually locked, and Internation distribution of the songs involves is going to cause some problem.
However, I am thinking, PS3 don't offer any kind of region protection, and since this game is coming out on PS3 as well. Chances are, it might not be locked at all on 360 as well! Hahaha. Just a fool's hope.
Anyway, thanks again for the reply.

It'll probably be region locked. I'm not sure which part of Asia you hail from, but I spent ten years living in Singapore, which has the South East Asia headquarters of Microsoft, incidentally. Microsoft was pretty strict about ensuring region lock was in effect on both Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles so there's little hope they'll change their minds. In Singapore that was always kind of a decisive point for gamers (English is actually the main language of the island) where they debated getting an American console (being able to play games in English) which was more expensive, or wait for a cheaper local console. Admittedly, Microsoft has gotten better in recent years with including English even in Asian versions of the game, so you'll probably only experience a delay of a few months before an official Asian version is sold in the region.
Or, yeah, if you really can't wait, you can get a PS3 which has no regional coding for PS3 games...
