Just wondering...
For those of you that bought the woodrock pedal...
What do you think of it?
I want to make sure it is performing well for you.
Ours is working GREAT!
Our 12-year old has a lead foot and it still rocks hard. :-)
Let me know...

I have posted several replies on this pedal in the forum and have been flamed for them but I do not care! The pedal is working AWESOME!! As a drummer I have a lead foot and this pedal hangs with me! Feels very comfortble, not a sign of breaking anywhere! This pedal will last for years to come! Thanks again for letting me take part in your invention!

I suggest EVERYONE get this pedal! YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!!

It looks amazing, unfortunately I can't afford one despite the fact that I may need it XD I hope HMX is working on making a better pedal so that ours won't break.

I haven't gotten mine yet, but it's good to hear such rave reviews. I plan on getting some adhesive "no-slip" tape (like what you see on top of steps or skateboards), and put either my character name or my XBL ID on it. Should look pretty kewl and keep my socked foot from slipping off. Can't wait to install mine.

Oh yea, I've been meaning to ask this...does this mod make the pedal quieter?

Yes I think so. You still here a little tap from the rubber feet, but that is it. No more plastic clanking sound.

Hey, thanks for making these. When i open rock band (gotta remember: GOTTA ACT SURPRISED...) I'll beg- er ask my mom to buy me one of these cause i KNOW i'll break my pedal with my big fat leg floppin up and down on it.

I'd also thought about affixing some skateboard griptape to the top, just to give it some texture. And putting some kind of orange bar across it.

Mine shipped a couple days ago, so I'm hoping it'll come Monday.

Answered in your other thread but I might as well paste it here as well.

The shipment to Sweden was very fast.

Installation was quick and simple. I have the old style of pedal so I had to remove the orange bar in order for it to fit. This won't be a problem for people with the new style though. Also the original screws for the orange retainer are small and difficult to screw into the wood so I used other ones.

The finish and craftsmanship are just great, I was pleasantly surprised. It seems very sturdy. I can not see this one break no matter what. Some people have said that the metal plates are better but this wood pedal is as strong as it gets. Also I really like the idea of replacing the whole pedal and not just bolting on a plate to the plastic one since this way you reinforce the whole thing. If you only add a metal plate the joint at the bottom is still a weak spot.

All in all I am extremely pleased with this pedal. It looks great, performs great and feels very solid. I consider a handmade product of this quality and finish a steal at the price you are charging :)

Rob,
Thanks for the kudos on the pedal. We have received very positive responses to the pedal. As you said, it is handmade, so I have been in my garage for days building them. So far, we are on track with shipping orders and haven't fallen behind.

I agree with you about replacing the entire pedal, as opposed to screwing in a plate onto a broken pedal. That is the reason I designed a pedal replacement. So far, my son is loving it. He's an amazing drummer, so he's been on the game 24/7 since we got it (minus school and sleep hours ;-). I just added mouse pads (cut to fit) on the drum heads, because the sounds was annoying all of us.

Didnt buy a woodrock pedal but instead made my own on our companys router table. I play on expert and it works like a charm, if your pedal breaks id suggest getting one as it will last for a long time.

On a side note Id say the price is fair also as it took me a couple hours to get the templete right.

Just got mine today.I ordered it last monday and although I was told one old style pedal was still available and to make a note when I ordered that I would get an old style pedal I still ended up with a new style.Aside from having to cut the tab off to get it to fit and one of the holes for the screws being a little off this pedal seems really sturdy and hopefully will last.

The_Cooler618,
We stopped selling the OLD style on December 18th and posted it on our website. We have made them custom for people when they have requested. Did you contact us directly about this? I can't tell by your screen name who you are, but please write me and tell me your name so I can look up your order and see what happened (if we missed your note or something). Write to chris@woodrockpedals.com
We hope to hear from you soon!

Just got my woodrock pedal in the mail today. I ordered the plain pedal and was shipped the black pedal. At first I was all WTF?! but after putting it together and seeing how well the black finish on the wood matches the black plastic of the base I'm glad I got the black one! XD Thanks plankeye!

After returning 2 drum pedals to Costco (amazing return policy), I bought a woodrock pedal and I love it. Both my wife and I like it better than the original.

It is responsive, durable, and since it is heavier than the plastic P.O.S., you can put more weight on it when resting without setting of the sensor.

The pedals are activated by a magnet when you step on them... having more or less weight on the pedal when you're resting should make no difference whatsoever :)

I haven't bought one of these yet, but hopefully I will at some point, I've already warrentied one pedal.

I am stuck with an old style peddle and was under the impression the new Woodrock would not fit. After reading some of the comments here it seems like you can make it work with a bit more effort. Is that correct? I need to do something before the inevitable break.

I love mine. I can't even imagine going back to the stock pedal at this point. First, I don't have to worry about the pedal and I can concentrate on my foot technique. Second, it flexes less under load so it actually makes for a slightly easier/faster pedal. Also, because the pedal is thicker I could adjust the position of the magnet inside it to fine tune when the kick registers. If I have to go play rockband somewhere else, I take my sticks and pedal with me.

I did have to splurge the $.99 to buy the grip tape for it though.

Me too. Those router tables are great. I experimented with some material at work it is 13mm perspex with bamboo through the middle of it. Here are a couple of pics of it. Still gotta finish it off as it is a work in progress. I also have a wooden one finished with chequer plate laminex

I've still got mine from before they went out of production.

It's great for me, I don't play a lot of drums but I want my pedal to be strong every time.

Very light, looks great. If I ever really get into the drums I'll upgrade to an Omega or something though.
