cymbal problems

ok, I first purchased the dual cymbal pack a few months ago. recently I bought the single pack to expand. when I hit the new cymbal, it doesnt respond like the old ones. i did notice the cord that goes from the cymbal to the input(?) is different than my old ones. do I have a faulty cymbal, or are there different factors in play? any help is greatly appreciated!

If the dual cymbal pack works fine, plug it into where the new one is. If it works fine, its the cymbal. If it doesn't, it's your drums.
