This is a thread dedicated to your last concert experience. Feel free to post who you went with, what bands played, where it happened, and other funny or embarrassing facts.
The last concert I attended was U2's 360 tour at the Rose Bowl last night. There were over a hundred thousand people in attendance and it was the largest concert ever hosted with in California. The opening "Band" The Black Eyed Peas, was pretty good, although I caught the tail end of their performance. The highlight of their segment was when Slash walked on stage and played Sweet Child O' Mine with them. (which was hilariously tainted by Fergi forgetting the words". After that U2 took the stage, and the real magic began. They played a good mix of classics and a few hits off their newest album, while their giant spider-stage blazed on. This ranks 1 on my favorite concert list, but then again i've only seen Metallica and Oasis besides this. (Der_Lex would not Approve :mad:). Overall it was a fun night, except for the drive back where it took us over an two hours to get out of the parking lot.
(The first two pics are from other arenas, but the last one is the Rose Bowl):)

The last concert I went to was Silversun Pickups, Cage The Elephant, and Manchester Orchestra in Richmond on August 4th. It was at a place called The National. It was really nice, but the security was douchey as hell. SSPU and Cage The Elephant put on great shows, but Manchester Orchestra suuuuuuuuuuuuucked. They just stood around. >_>
It was the best concert I'd been too, but I've only seen Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction, and Street Sweeper Social Club.

The last concert I went to was to see The Mars Volta in Nashville on the 20th. Me, my brother and a friend made the hour or so drive down there in pretty good time so we were about the fifth row of people from the stage. I was a fingertip a way from catching a drum stick. :( Besides not getting the stick it was the most incredible thing I have ever seen with my own eyes.

Last concert i went to was a festival, with these bands playing:
Bad Religion, Silverstein, The Vandals, Big B, Framing Hanley, The Higher, Taking Dawn, Bless the Fall, Suicide Silence, Damnear Divine, Love It Or Leave It, Eyes Like Diamonds, The Seventh Plgue, Summit Grove, Dreamscar, This Romantic Tragedy
The really good bands are bold and green, the good ones are just green, the "meh" ones are yellow, and the red ones just plain sucked. :D

My last concert was a festival as well, the annual Metal Female Voices Fest in Wieze, Belgium. Bands attending were :
* Epica
* Delain
* Midnattsol
* Krypteria
* Flowing Tears
* Autumn
* Amberian Dawn
* Kivimetsän Druidi
* Unsun
* Manic Movement
* Pinky Doodle Poodle
* Whyzdom
* Tarja
* Doro
* Trail of Tears
* Van Canto
* Darzamat
* Stream of Passion
* Lahannya
* Deadlock
* To-Mera
* Coronatus
Of those, Krypteria and Deadlock were the only bands I didn't like at all, and I have to admit both of Sunday's headliners, Doro and Tarja, were a bit disappointing as well. On the other hand, Epica's two hour concert on Saturday was one of the best concerts I've ever had the pleasure of attending, with an awesome guest appearance by ex-After Forever's Floor Jansen to boot. Other performances that stood out were Leaves' Eyes (even though it was only a small acoustic set), Stream of Passion (who all signed my album afterward, and I got to briefly talk with my personal metal goddess Marcela Bovio too), Kivimetsän Druidi (fun Finnish folk metal) and Van Canto (a capella metal FTW).
Other recent concerts were Porcupine Tree (decent, but not spectacular), Tagueule (http://www.myspace.com/tagueuleband) (Got dragged along by my wife because her coworker drums in this band, but they were were surprisingly good. Their newer, as yet unrecorded songs have a bit of a proggy sound to them that suit them well. The coworker in question is a fantastic drummer too), and the Progressive Nation tour (Dream Theater was meh, Unexpect and Bigelf were great and Opeth was fantastic).
Next concert might be ISIS in December, although it's sucky that none of my friends like them and I'll have to go by myself.

SIlversun Pickups with Cage the Elephant and Manchester Orchestra on Sept 15th. i agree with the earlier assessment,SSPU and CTE were awesome,and Manchester orchestra was very boring to watch.

I saw Moby last weekend. He was great. He had a full band which suprised me. He was on guitar, he had a singer, pianist, violinist, drummer, bassist, and a dj. It was a really a spectacular concert and impressed me immensely.
This weekend I'm going to a rave that Benny Benassi is playing at. :eek:

I just typed up an awesome post telling about my experiances with the latest Authority Zero concert, but my computer is an idiot.:D
Went to see Authority Zero in september...was their best show yet(i've been to 6 to this day) And I got to hang with their returning bassist Jeremy Wood! They even mentioned rockband as Jeremy played the intro to no regrets "I bet you can't play this on expert Jerm!"
I'm seeing Mastodon in less than a month!

The last gig I went to was at the Diamond in Sutton-in-Ashfield, UK to see the ever awesome Heaven's Basement. This was my second time seeing them live (the first time was when they supported Buckcherry at Rock City). They, once again, blew the roof of this very tiny place, and I had an absolute blast. They've quickly shot up to my number two spot in "most awesome bands ever" list, which is quite an achievement considering I'm a bit of a music snob. If you ever get the chance to see 'em live, I strongly recommend you check them out. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

The last concert I saw was a few months ago, saw X in Orange County, and about a week before that I saw Joan Jett at the same venue. Both very great shows but I felt X was a little more energetic and the set seemed longer too. Next concert I go to probably will be Coachella 2010, which is a festival instead of a single concert but whatever, it's the most wonderful time of the year.

I went to this show.
You Me at Six opened, and they were okay. I expected them to be a bit better but wasn't unhappy.
The secret handshake was NOT good. ugh. so much autotune, handclap snares... UGH
Set Your Goals was great . I caught a guitar pick from them and that made my night. I was very happy with their setlist too.
The Academy Is... were SO good... The power chords hit really hard and they played with so much energy, it was such a treat. The 10-song setlist could only have been disappointing though, so I was pretty happy with it (for just 10 songs, anyway) .
Mayday Parade headlined my date and I was pretty surprised by how good they were. admittedly I like their music more than I should but their new CD is really, really bad... They put on a pretty good show, but it felt like they had done the exact same show for a while now. There was actually an awesome pit for most of their set and I jumped in it a bit.
Overall - GOOD show. Would see it again.

Not a huge concert-goer - maybe one every three or four years.
My last was last year - Return to Forever reunion tour - Chick Corea, Lenny White, Al DiMeola and Stanley Clark.

I saw Skillet for the fourth time, but I went for Decyfer Down. Also playing were a new band called The Letter Black and Hawk Nelson.
I had never heard of The Letter Black, but they opened the concert with a very strong 6 song set. Little did I know it was their only 6 songs. You see, their new cd wasn't set to come out until 2 days after the concert, but it was available for pruchase at the concert. They hadn't even seen the cover yet. Still I got to hang with them and they all signed a picture I bought.
Next was Decyfer Down.This was my third time seeing them. They played a great set of almost all of their best songs, and even closed with my favorite song. They're so awesome. Got to hang with half of the band and got more autographs (Even though I already have them lol)
3rd was Hawk nelson, the christian equilvalent of Blink 182. They seemed out of place compared to the other band, but their constant energy and great play really got the crowd into it. They did a great job, though they were my least favorite band on the bill. Got to hang with their guitarist and get another autograph.
Lastly, Skillet came out and played an awesome set. Their new album ("Awake") translates amazingly well to live play. They were really amazing, and kept the crowd on their toes. Everyone loved it, and it was saddening to see them walk off the stage. All in all it was an amazing concert.
Sadly, I was set to go see Kings of Leon the next night, but my friend was supposed to drive me, and the jerk backed out an hour before the concert. I missed the concert. ****. I already have money saved to buy floor seats to their next show in IN though, whenever it may be. :D

I saw Jay-Z on October 21st at Eastern Michigan University's Convocation Center.
Opening for him was J. Cole, Wale, and N*E*R*D.
Jay-Z and N*E*R*D definitely stole the show, but J. Cole did his thing as well. Wale was pretty disappointing.
Also, N*E*R*D could be fun in Rock Band.

Last night I went to the Between the Buried and Me concert in Birmingham.
Erra was awful.
Nymphotomy was freaking intense. Drummer was great. First mosh I've ever been in.
Animals as Leaders had literally the best guitarist I've ever heard. A vocalist would have ruined their band.
Veil of Maya was pretty intense. Their vocalist was sick, and so was their guitarist. Best band their IMO.
BTBAM was epic. I got up and crowd surfed the first song, and was the first person that got up on their set. Stayed up for about 2 minutes. It was intense. I surfed 2nd song and got to first row until some ******* pulled me down. I was a foot away from stage. Needless to say, I lasted in that mosh about a song and a half before i said **** it out, I'm out.
I was 2nd/3rd row for the first 4 acts. Best concert I've ever been to.
