I've called EA several times, called Nintendo a few times, emailed Gamestop no one seems to know anything about the delay of the Wii free DLC codes. I'm going crazy!

Didn't they say it would be a couple weeks for Wii users? It's barely been over one. Wait it out.

I'm growing impatient too, but just be glad you'll have something to look forward to between Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper's. Of course, I'm just waiting to get Maxwell's Silver Hammer because I used the rest of my free songs for Pepper. Maybe the wait is a little easier for me since it's just the one song.

Interestingly enough, I received an email reply from Gamestop customer service (since they were the ones that issued the promo) and they basically said that there was a limited supply of promotional codes and that it's never guaranteed. Now, it read like a canned response so take it for what it's worth but that would really suck if that's the case...

No Maxwell's Silver Hammer and no Oh! Darling makes EdHaag... something something.

I haven't received my Wii codes either, I had 6 total free songs. Gamestop better not try to pull some crap.

Wow, that's exactly the same message I received, but for a completely different question regarding DLC (My question was about switching songs from Abbey Road to Sgt. Pepper). The entire message was:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting GameStop.com .

All free bonus items are advertised as limited in supply and are issued in a first come first serve basis. Unfortunately we are not able to guarantee that all customers will receive these free items.

We look forward to your future business with GameStop.

Best Regards,

Makes me suspect their support staff are either robots or people with short term memory loss.

how the hell do you have short supply on a digital item? that makes no sense.

Well, there's only so many 25-number permutations...

Oh, HELL no. They better not just be saying "to hell with em".

Well, I never bought a game from Gamestop before, looks like I might not be doing so ever again, either. Their promotion was the only thing that got me in. If that was a lie, then I will absolutely NOT be buying from them again.

I already had mine preordered from Amazon, then I heard about the promotion, so I switched. If I dont get my codes soon, they are Joan and I am Maxwell.............:p

See What I did There?

Well, I called the phone number (650-628-1001) for EA Support listed on the actual Rave Card I received when I picked up my game. I spoke with a Customer Service Rep. who was able to confirm that I had registered for 6 free DLC codes. He confirmed that no Wii codes have yet been sent, but couldn't really give a reason for the delay. After I pressed him for more info, he did state that they are working to get them generated and delivered, and that they are not 'trying to get out of delivering the codes.'

I guess we can hope and wait...

Saved me a phone call!!!

I do know that on the confirmation email you get when you intially register your preorder code, they state on the page that appears when you confirm the email account that if you have not received codes by 10/31/09, then "check your spam inbox".

That would be tomorrow.

Maybe we'll see some codes tomorrow - maybe not. As long as I have mine sometime in Nov, I am cool - all 3 of my freebies are from Sgt Peppers.

It's just as I suspected! I just got off the phone with EA Customer Support since we were told to call them if we had not received our free codes by today. The answer I was given (and this is my 5th or 6th different answer thus far, but the most likely one now) is that the Wii Rock Band Store does not support the ability to input redemption codes!! I even suggested this to the Nintendo CS rep the other day who couldn't even confirm this. It's plain as day if you go into the game's store. Where on earth would you input a code?

So what now? We wait for Nintendo and EA to figure out how to solve this problem. They either:

a) send each registered person Wii points cards
b) credit each person's Wii Shop account with points
c) find a way to make the songs free to ONLY those who registered
d) make the songs free to EVERYONE

Wow. Way to go guys.

They are gonna have to issue Points, just like Pepsi did for Wii winners over the summer. Or, they will need to work w/ Nintendo & do this much like they recently did w/ the "refund" for those that bought the Internet Channel (it's now free - if you paid for it, you got a free Virtual Console game of your choice as "payback").

Needless to say, TB:RB was my 1st preorder via GS. It'll also be my last. They are a collection of tools

Dammit people calm down.

We should get the codes soon, and if anybody here remembers what happened with the Wii Points Codes from the Pepsi promo, then it will take a long, long time for them to come. (As long as a month)

Um, forgive the ignorance here, but are these download codes only for people who preordered the game through GameStop? I've preordered it through the Beatles Store (fittingly) and there was no word on getting DLC for it. (GameStop wouldn't ship the game here...)

Same here! Email arrived this AM.

All my tracks were selected from Sgt Peppers, and the email states that my code will not work until those tracks hit the in game Store (Nov 15, based on the email - although I doubt the date - it's a Sunday).

Looks like Wii users are getting a redemption much like that from Pepsi this summer - the code will get you Points to use in the Store, enough for 3 tracks (so I assume in the case of Sgt Peppers, 600 Points). But the code must somehow be date-sensitive on the Wii Shop Channel.

The email also lists a special "unlock code" for in game Photos - are these different then all the Photos I have already unlocked via gameplay? Will have to try the code out just to see.

Yes - this was a GameStop promo.

I finally got my code about 10:00 AM Pacific! So excited. Unfortunately, I'm at work and will have to wait quite a few hours.

A lot of people reference an earlier promo with Rock Band 2 and that us Beatles Rock Band players should have known the same would be the case. However, to some people's defense, including me, I didn't preorder RB2 so this was my first experience with free DLC. Regardless, ANY company should be ready to go by the release date, not nearly two weeks behind... ESPECIALLY with something related to The Beatles!

Alas, I'm just happy to have finally gotten my code. Now let's hope it works! Would love to see people comment on whether theirs have worked or not.

I got mine today too. I was able to redeem it for 600 Wii points in the Wii shop.:)

I got mine today. I went to the Wii Shop Channel and typed it in as if I were redeeming a gift card. That gave me 600 points, so I was able to download what I wanted from Abbey Road (I think I only requested Maxwell's Silver Hammer). I don't know if I'll get another code when Sgt. Pepper's comes out, or if it really matters which songs we requested. Also got the code to unlock another photo.

I pre-ordered online to pick up in-store. When I picked up the game, I got a card with a code. Then, a few days later, I received another code via email.

This is my first RockBand game, and I haven't even connected it yet as it is a Christmas present from Santa for the kids (and me). So, I apoligize in advance for my ignorance.

But I did get my codes and redeemed my 600 points.

My question: where can I find the Beatles DLC tunes? I don't see them anywhere on the Wii Shop channel. Do I need to have the game disc in & running to access the DLC?

Thanks.

RB/GH DLC, unlike on 360/PS3, is ONLY available via each title's in-game Music Store for Wii users. While this data is on the Wii Shop servers, it can't be accessed there. The only reason to enter the Wii SHop Channel for DLC is to buy your Points. The in-game Store will do the rest.

You & your kids are gonna LOVE IT!!!

Thanks for the quick reply, jwebb. I can't wait. Santa may have to "test" it one of these evenings to make sure it works ok. ;)

I did that once and Santa took my stuff away when she found out.
