IGN's Best of 2007 - BEST DLC GOES TO GH3??

On 360, GH3 wins. But on the PS3, Rock Band wins.

This really surprised me too. GH3's DLC sucks. The only good songs they have, like No More Sorrow (don't flame me) or The Pretender, are ruined with bad, overdone, not-very-fun charts. I thought the We Three Kings sucked (no offense against Ouimette). It wasn't fun at all, and the song wasn't my favorite. Only legit reasoning I came up with is that as to GH winning one system and not the other, is that the PS3 doesn't have as much DLC for Guitar Hero as 360 does (i think just the halo theme). So they might be saying GH3 is better with the Halo theme (which is the most fun of the DLC), but not as good without it. I think it's not as good even with it, and I'm sure most everybody else does too. Did IGN take replayability (probably not a word), price point, and amount into consideration? Cause RB wins at all 3.

Last year NHL 2K7 got a higher score than NHL 07.
That absolute travesty was corrected and NHL 07 given game of the month.
When time for the best sports game award came around it was 2K7 that got nominated.

IGN's awards are just crazy....or paid for...or half paid for/half truthful.

Rock Band should win from sheer variety alone. Not to mention it is cheaper and the song selection is way better. The only songs I somewhat like from GH III''s DLC were the Foo Fighters stuff, the other songs that were even somewhat worth downloading were free. That is really dumb that they would even think GH III could compete with Rock Band's DLC.

I'm more surprised to see Halo 3 win in the most innovative category, with The Orange Box (PORTAL?!!) and Rock Band taking a back seat. No offense, but Halo 3 is Halo 2 with updated graphics, new weapons, and an editor mode... Most innovative?

Yea that was a strange one too. Not that Portal or Rock Band are exactly innovative since Prey already did the portals thing and there's been plenty of guitar/drum/singing games. I think that one should've went to Mass Effect for actually being successful in crossing many genres,the story and the convos or skate. for the controls,big open world (innovative for it's genre) and the video/pic sharing.

The people who make these awards have no more credibility than you do...there is no such thing as an "expert" in this situation.

Sorry to go off topic ..... but I still beleive that MSoft has something to do with the GHIII guitar not working for RB on the PS3. The GHIII guitar works for both games on the 360.

Now I hear the DLC for GHIII is mostly just for 360 and not PS3, but RB's DLC is even for both consoles. Just adds to my suspicions that Activision climbed into bed with MSoft to screw Sony. :eek:

If they're in bed with MSoft, wouldn't it be them they'd be screwing and not Sony.

A lot of game companies tend to screw Sony over somewhat. They care more about the 360 because it's where the bigger install base is. Sucks for PS3 owners, but it happens, unfortunately.

And the guitar works on 360 because of MS's strict controller standards, which Sony doesn't have. So blame Sony for that. ;)

I have lost a lot of respect for IGN a long time ago. Same thing with Gamespot. I do not understand how Rock Band can win PS3 yet GH can win 360.

GH3 360 has the Halo Theme free for download.
