No..no, not how to put them together, I'm smart enough for that :P What I wanna know is what would be considered proper height or whatever?
I use a non adjustable computer chair to sit in..thighs are about parallel to the floor..aside from that, not sure how high (or low) they should be set, as I have no drummer experience.
"Whatever's comfortable" won't help too much, as I adjust them all the time, and adjust with them. I read some tips relating to real drums that said sit on the 'throne' and air drum..so I set the drums to where my sticks would hit while air drumming...but now I'm hitting plastic (which is alot more annoying than hitting the pads)
So er, can anyone suggest anything?

If you are hitting plastic (a lot) then you should lower the drums. there is no 'set' height based on your inseam or whatever.
Low enough so that you aren't banging on the rims and high enough to still be comfortable (and not tire your arms from being held in the air too high)

hate to say what you said you didn't want to hear, but "whatever's comfortable" is the rule. If you watch 10 different drum gods play, you'll likely see various heights and distancing.
I myself as a jazz trained drummer so I like to sit up straight and have the drums pretty low. I know a death metal drummer who plays with his set very high and sits very close.
I suggest setting it at a height that allows you to hit all four pads without hitting the rims to often, then just get used to it and leave it there.

as i think of it...it's not only the drum height, the chair/throne height makes a great difference too, i suggest you try sitting on something else....(as in more adjustable);)
