Do you need the instruments to play RB?

:confused: DO you need the instruments or is it like GH can u use a normal Xbox360 controller im getin the instuments after the first of the year:D

A regular controller WILL work with Rock Band, but ONLY if you are interested in being a vocalist. Seems like the game can actually recognize which specific peripheral is being used as an input, and since vocalists have their "controller" designated as the normal controller, using that will automatically take you to the menus for vocalists.
