I don't know the answer to it, but maybe someone who has heard or actually has the game can answer these two questions.

1. Can we use the characters to play songs not by them? I don't care too much for this one, but it ties to the next one.

2. If not, do those bands/singers play their songs that were DLC? Like will Lego Queen be playing Killer Queen on the game?

1. Yes

2. Killer queen is DLC not in LRB, but I still think you can still play with them for their songs.

Killer Queen didn't pass the filter? Damn. I don't see anything wrong with it. Is there a list anywhere or anything about what made it and what did not?

I think the fact that they're Lego pieces is a bit of a twist in regards to that. I mean, the way Kurt was portrayed in GH5, he looked quite realistic. At the same time, seeing a Lego piece of Kurt would just look plain awkward. You just know Freddy Mercury would have been fine with it.

Yes. It's gonna be annoying searching through those songs just to find Killer Queen.

Scroll down and it will have a list of DLC that will play in the game.

I'd say "quite realistic" is subject to opinion...he looked like a zombie to me. (strangely fitting, perhaps?...)

ALL RB DLC is playable in both RB and RB2. However only certain songs cleared as "suitable for all ages" will also be available for use in LRB.

In short don't expect songs like, Tenacious D's "Rock your socks" off in LRB.

It looks like Killer Queen didn't make it.

Exactly as in when I said how it did not "pass the filter".

I'm hoping that more DLC will work than shown, because I don't see anything recent on that list. I mean, how can "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" not be in the game, it's on Band Hero.

My bad. Brain fart.

No. The artists will only, AND ONLY, show up for their own songs, DLC or otherwise.
Unfortunately, there is no Bowie/Queen combo for Under Pressure, even though I think it passed the filter. Just Queen plays it.

I have a feeling that the list that I posted hasn't been updated in while. The newest approved DLC it shows is back when the Guess Who got DLC.

I though that you would buy the characters in a store using studs, the same way you would buy characters in other Lego games.

Oh well.

Disappointing, that would have been epic.

Does David Bowie sing cover versions of himself? :P

I believe the list you posted was only updated to September's DLC. I could be wrong though.

Well, the Bowie covers are also blocked off until you unlock him in career. :p

you don't get it. the problem Kurts fans, myself included, had was Kurt was against selling out and commercialism. And for him to be created and singing dumb songs was sort of a slam for what he believed in.

No matter what it won't be a travesty like GH5. I mean, they're just Legos.

No, including Nirvana in a music video game, *period,* is a slam against what he believed in. Kurt would likely have been just as opposed to licensing the Nirvana songs to RB as he would have to GH. Whether you believe that or not, that fits in precisely with what he thought of as "sell-out".

The complaints fans have about the GH5 avatar has almost unanimously been about Kurt's avvie singing other people's songs (regardless of whether they're "dumb" songs or bona fide classics).

Actually Kurt was a musician and I don't think he'd be against a media that forces people to listen closer to his music. If I'm not mistaken he was against himself becoming an icon, or a commecial image rather than people focusing on his music and lyrics ( much like how members of Daft punk feel which is why they refuse to show their faces in public) The epitome of what bothered him would be using his face instead of his music and message to sell something like a magazine, or say, a videogame.

And yet he willingly made music videos for MTV, which made him a commercial icon. While making the SLTS video, the director originally wanted to keep the band shadowy, off in the distance; it was Kurt who got pissed off and shoved his face in the camera at the end and practically demanded that they leave the shot in, so that people would actually, you know, get to see what he looked like.

Kurt faced the ultimate indie dilemma: once you start getting fans, you get a label. Once you get a label, you're no longer indie. Once you're no longer indie, you've become commercial.

That's why indie elitism is such a catch-22, and so hypocritical: if the music is really that good, *of course* it's going to get a large fanbase. Popular =/= bad music (not always), and unpopular =/= good music (not always), but you'd be hard pressed to find music snobs who can understand this formula (especially on THESE forums).

Maybe he would have enjoyed it.

I mean from what I heard he was all for Weird Al slamming Nirvana in a humorous way through his songs.
