So, whats everybody think are the greatest theme songs ever?
For me it's a toss up between the Ghostbusters theme and the Original Power Rangers theme.

Hawai'i Five-O - or the Theme from Mission Impossible.
I also like the (extended) theme of The Big Bang Theory (Barenaked Ladies) - it's a lot like the TMBG "book report" songs I'm very fond of.
It's not rock 'n' roll, but I've always really liked the theme to the Odd Couple.

Do video games count? If so, the Advance Wars series on GBA/DS has always had some kick-ass music. I'll try and find a video. EDIT:Here's one. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFn0Xo24R0g&feature=related)
Also, the original Power Rangers theme is so awesome that I learned it on guitar.

The first thing that popped in my head was "I am a real american" by Rick Derringer, as the theme song for Hulk Hogan. But since it's not about that, I'll choose the theme of the show that made me pick the Hulkster song.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I *love* the music in that show, especially the theme. it's so kitschy and fits the show perfectly.

TV Shows:
Cowboy Bebop (Tank! and The Real Folk Blues)
Bonanza (I'm a sucker for banjos; not really a fan of the show, though)
Dragonball Z
Rocko's Modern Life (The B-52s made it, for crying out loud)
The Adventures of Pete & Pete (all of the music from that show was great)
Charmed (It's not as good as the original version, but Love Spit Love's cover of How Soon Is Now? is pretty darn solid)
Power Rangers
Thunder Cats (How has no one said this yet?!?)
The Office (So perfectly encapsulates the drudgy mood of working in an office)
Metalocalypse
Seinfeld (that bassline...)
Dirty Jobs
Numb4rs
The Odd Couple
Cow and Chicken
Inspector Gadget
G-Force (I doubt anyone remembers this cartoon beyond Robot Chicken's lampooning of the show, but it was indeed an awesome if somewhat kitschy anime)
Robot Chicken
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Movies:
The Exorcist
Anything John Williams has ever done (Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones, etc.)

Oh! I forgot about Rugrats...that's a good one, too, and speaking of Mr. Mothersbaugh, he also did the theme to Pee-Wee's Playhouse and Rushmore.
Are you sure it's not a bass? If not, my mind has just been blown.
