I can't wait to purchase LRB at midnight on Tuesday, and I still can't believe HMX has waited this long to officially announce the release date. It's absolutely mindboggling, but hey I'm sure they will.

Anyways, I was watching a video on YouTube showing all the tiers for the LRB songs, and I noticed some odd stuff with the album art/years.

"Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves doesn't have it's original 1983 album artwork, instead it has a stock logo of the band name, which is unusual. I hope it's not a re-record.

Also, for that same song, the year is listed as 2004. Odd. It also has no album title, whatsoever.

"Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas also doesn't have it's original single or album artwork from 1974, instead it has a photo of Mr. Douglas. Also, it doesn't have an album title attached to it. It however, does have the correct year (1974).

By the way, "Fire" is listed under 'The Jimi Hendrix Experience' instead of just 'Jimi Hendrix' as it was in HMXHenry's press release. I'm so glad they credited the entire band and not just Jimi.

Well, here's a video of it being played (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xitrdQtKhq0). Does it sound any different than what you're used to?

It sounds the same. Just the obvious RB adjustments (crowd sing-along, louder instruments).

It's probably just stuff done for Lego that will be fine when exported. I think I remember Aliens Exist without proper album art too.

Also, Word Up (KoRn) had the Greatest Hits album as it's cover. I'm not sure this is right.

Well, that is where the song first showed up, along with their cover of "Another Brick in the Wall."

The Korn song is accurate info. The Blink-182 song does show the Enema Of The State album artwork, you probably saw a video of a guy picking the song and not letting the artwork load, so you just saw the default Lego artwork.

There's a ton of stuff like this in Rock Band 2, also.

Wiki-sleuthing:

Katrina *might* be a re-record, but not a Rock Band-specific one. According to Wiki, after the band split up in 1998 (apparently on bad terms), Katrina Leskanich tried to form a new "Waves" band in 2004-2005, but they don't seem to have gotten off the ground (failed to qualify past a "second-chance" round in a Swedish battle of the bands).

Could be that's what we got, and it would explain the lack of an album title/cover.

The album art and artist credits presented in game are "right" in the sense that it was what HMX was allowed to license for use in the game.

Noticed a few that had the LEGO artwork instead.

Counting Crows, and Ghostbusters theme (prob for not wanting movie trademarks etc), and the Blink 182 song Aliens Exist.

I'm pretty sure there's an album version and a single version.

I thought it was replaced in LEGO because the album art is a porn star in a nurse's outfit.

Your idea works, too, though.

The trumpets sound different to me...I think it's a re-record...still sounds good tho.

I think it's a re-record but it sounds so close to the original it doesn't matter at all. Good party song for the ladies to sing...

Counting Crows,

That I remember seeing on YT of a demo which had the Shrek 2 soundtrack on it, actually.

Maybe I didn't let it load in perhaps they changed it? Everything else was there as I scrolled down but those 3.

Nazareth - Hair of the Dog has the same problem. The year says 2009, but if you go to sort by year, it says it was in the 80s.

Earlier in the video when he passes by "All the Small Things" it shows the album art.

That's because the song is a re-record...but depending on how licenses are handled, HMX will try to get the song to sort with the decade it originally came out. I think the No-Doubt songs do this as well.

Though in some instances (Charlene) the decade will go along with the joke. Can't recall where Vesuvius sorts.
