Vinyl remastered versions of the Beatles albums are being worked on now, but no date has been set for their release, reports MOJO magazine.

"We're working on them now," said Jeff Jones, the head of Apple Records, told the magazine in an interview. "I don't have a release date. To put a release date next to them forces us into a situation where we're releasing something that might not be ready. "

Beatles Examiner reported in early October that, contrary to rumor, sources told us they wouldn't be appearing in January.

Jones' comments to the magazine seem to indicate, not surprisingly, that a boxed set is coming.

"They are incredibly complicated in terms of getting the masters right and getting the packages right. ... How do you assemble them? How do you put them in a box? How much do they cost?

"We want to make sure we're doing it right and that people get real value from it."

God I hope. I think there were reissues in the some other countries and Abbey Road was reissued here.

Vinyl versions of the remasters could finally spur me to replace my dead turntable and start spinning my large LP collection. Hope it happens.
