Hi all,
I cant seem to find my import code in the manual for RB: Lego. Its usually on the back of the manual right? The back of my manual has a advergistment for Legoland in California. Where can I find the code?
Let me know, thanks in advance!

It's on a separate card insert.

Did you buy the Wii version? No import at all.
Otherwise, it's not on the manual but on an insert card instead.

Well played HMX since rental places won't give out the insert cards.

Just opened mine to explain further if you haven't found it yet. When I opened it, it was the first thing I saw, It's less of a card and more paper. It says Rock Band Song Export Feature at the top.

Mine was inserted with the spanish side up - but I knew immediately what it was. Definitely smart of HMX and I'm glad I bought the game now instead of being tempted to cut corners.

I , honestly , only bought it to get some of the good songs exported to be used in RB2 it's little more than another "track pack" for me. It's more of a convenience thing for me....I prefer to be able to just lump all of the tunes together in one game and be able to play any of them any time I want. I usually give the disc to my nieces and nephews after I export them so that they can play the games and I just play the songs in RB2. Unfortunately HMX is making me wait to export these and I'm getting slightly annoyed. :-(

it gives you a reason to try it out for a while, and see what the carreer is all about, and get gamerpoints or whathever you get in your console of choice;)
btw, i agree with you band choices, we need them :)

See, this is what I'm trying to tell people complaining right now.
They just spent $50 on the game, and any sell back value will likely be half that at best. So why not take the week or so it may be before you can fully export the title to actually play the game you bought and see if it's worth keeping around.
It supports DLC, so it's not like it's a finite setlist. The LEGO building elements are something that have me very excited to start messing around with...
Treat it like a rental at least. Besides, the trade-in value for this game won't take a significant hit until after the Export feature is online and people start ripping and selling.

Hmm, since the export didn't kick in yet, I guess no one really knows how much the stores take em back for yet. I'm curious to find out.

Typically a game sold back on Day 1 caps at 50% retail. But I wouldn't expect more than $22 bucks back for this since it's not as big a title.

I got a bit more than 50% for AC/DC, but that was on day 1 indeed. I usually don't care what they go for, as I'm just glad to clear shelf space, but in this case I'm far from sold on the setlist. A bargain may convince me to cough up for the ten songs or so that are interesting.

Well said. I'm planning on playing the crap out of L:RB, getting some achievements and then eventually exporting to RB2. I'm mostly excited to play L:RB without any of the RB1 or RB2 songs. It feels like I've played those tunes a million times, so it'll be nice to give those songs a breather and just concentrate on my DLC along with the Lego tracks.

The AC/DC Track Pack benefited from being exclusive to Wal-Mart. So for a while GameStop was happy to get them (as it made them the only other place you could get it).
The price quickly dropped though once more people started exporting and selling the disc.

I am happy that you cant rent it and steal the code, that was a great move!!! Hopefully it will help sell more units and perpetuate(sp) a great game!!! They do need to make profits to keep this platform alive and I think that we all should do our best to help that along if we like the product.

Right.
Except that's not how it's shipped. It's a flier thats added to the packaging process last. It's the first thing you see when you open the case, the next thing being a white flier about safety tips, and then behind that is the manual.
Also, if you have the game, why are you on ebay looking up codes?

I walked into Best Buy, bought the game, and then walked over to GameStop and sold the game for $17. The clerk explained that the resell value is so low because they expect a lot of people to buy the game primarily for the export code.

My import is now complete (after getting cutoff mid download thanks to a 2 hour power outage). Haven't gone back to RB2 yet to see what new challenges I've created.
...I imagine at least one or two (Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters). Should probably check to see if it created any LEGO Rock Band challenges (similiar to RB1)

Did you just put in the code, or after the code did you put in Lego Rock Band, go to the music store, then do the export?
Because the downloading the export code, is NOT importing the tracks from Lego Rock band. It just sets up the discs for the import.

It sounds like you downloaded just the Export License but not the actual song pack.
The "quick" download is the Key (called "LEGO Rock Band Export Pack").
Once you download that, you need to go into the LEGO Rock Band Music Store (in-game) and purchase the actual Song Pack (also called "LEGO Rock Band Export Pack").
That is a considerably longer download.

I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but you have to wait until November 12th, at the earliest, in order to redeem your code and get the export.

This might theoretically work. I'm gonna assume you're on the 360 to simplify the possibility. If you contacted a HMX guy with pictures of your receipt/game, and give him your gamertag (to make sure you didn't pawn the code off to a friend on your list)...I'm not saying they WILL help you, but they might.
They've given out free Beatles shirts for those that didn't get one. Since this is a significantly larger item, some proof and feelgood optimism may be a necessity.
