They were an 80s Rock/New Wave band. They had a unique sound. They simulated Scottish Folk Instruments with their guitars. I haven't really seen anyone suggesting them. They would be great for guitar hero. Their songs are mostly Guitar, Bass, Drums, And singing, and they would be great for all of them. I think they'd add a good amount of variety in the game.

Sorry to bump this, but no one has seen it so I have to.

Their songs are catchy, but nothing special I'm dying for to play. So, I would say, DLC would be okay, but nothing more.

GrayInvisible

A lot of their songs have very good instrument work, and would be tough and fun to play. They don't seem very well known, but have/had a cult following.

I've seen people bump threads before. I really like them. They're not really well known, so I'd like people to hear and like them. I want people to hear them. I personally think they sound better than metal bands. I don't go in to metal threads and say no one cares (Except for Nu metal, and pop punk but that's another story). You like metal. This isn't your type of music. I think they're musically talented.

What? You're kidding me, right? You list Big Country and don't suggest Fields of Fire? I'm all for some pipes-soudning guitar licks, though the drum part is a little tier one.

Heres fields of fire. Can't believe I forgot it. The 2nd Big Country song I heard. Could only find the live one. Glad to see someone who's heard of them.

Keeping this up. I want people to see them. I think it would add variety to the game, and be fun to play. Keep in mind, there is going to be so much DLC they won't be replacing any famous bands. They'd just be alongside of them. I personally hope with DLC almost every person is satisfied.

I'm not really feelin that song :/

If they by some chance made it into the game I wouldn't be mad because I hate some songs in the game that are confirmed so... yeah lol

I always liked Big Country! They were not always my favorite, but I can see getting them in the game. Now, what I'd like to ask you, GrayInvisible, would you also like to see Mr. Gary Glitter be represented in the game? Or how about Genesis? Or Kate Bush? =o

My problem is I could ask for 1000 songs and still not be satisfied... I want this one so badly it hurts me! And I know it'll never ever ever be in the game or as DLC... ='(
(So I hope you get your Big Country!...) Here it is:

Genesis - The Musical Box

I don't know about Gary Glitter or Kate Bush, but I've hear of Genesis. That video won't load in for some reason, but I can find the link in the quote for me to listen to.

Theres a big chance for Genesis. The others too. As long as the DLC is plentiful, and they check out the forums there is. You should make a thread about those bands. People will get to see them.

EDIT: It loaded for me nevermind lol. It was pretty good. I could see it getting in. It's a little slow in the beginning (For a musical game), but picks up good, and would fit. If not in the game, definitely as DLC.

I meant youtube. To embed in the page, copy the thing under the description that says embed. Some forums let you use [media] tags, but not this.

Pretty good song, I liked it. That'd be good in the game. There hasn't been much Indie rock/Post Punk revival stuff in GH

Listened to "In a Big County" now a few times, and I like it more and more.
So, would be absolutly ok to have this song in the game.

hey GrayInvisible i'd recommend listening to "Red lights indicate doors are secure" or "flourescent adolescent" those are two of their best

yes i know, some of their songs names are really stupid

Fields of Fire - I would fall asleep playing that drum part, maybe not the best choice for RB. Something with a better (as in more varied) drum section would be fine for DLC, though.

Yeah, I wouldn't really like Fields of Fire, but I posted it because it's one of their more popular songs. Wonderland has a cool drumline.

"Fluorescent Adolescent" is currently my favorite song of this year. The way that song crescendos and delivers is fantastic. I'd love to see that in Rock Band.

Yeah, great song. I've been thinking of purchasing an album of theirs soon. Would be a great addition to Rock Band.

What do you think of Big Country?

if you are gonna buy an album id recommend their first album its a lot better than their new one. its called "Whatever people say i am, that's what im not"

I loved Big Country when they first came out as a kid in high school. I went straight out and bought The Crossing from them, and loved playing the drums to the whole album. Their ability to mimic Scottish bagpipes with their effects pedals was unique at the time, but they were also great songwriters. If I was to put any of their songs in a game like Rock Band, I'd put it in "Fields Of Fire" because I like the drums in it better than their other hit, here in the U.S. I think they had a minor hit with "Look Away" in 1986, as well.

Stuart Adamson was a great songwriter and it is too bad he took his own life, actually. As fas as I knew, they continued to record and tour overseas for a while.

As for the Arctic Monkeys, one of my favorite songs off of their first album is the under-rated catchy pop hit from them "Mardy Bum". Even that song would make a nice early tier song in a game like Rock Band.

I'd like to see them as DLC, they're awesome. I'll probably buy some of their stuff on the zune marketplace when I get home from vacation. I'm finding new music all the time.

yeah Mardy Bum is a great song but it would be absolutely amazing if they got "A Certain Romance" in there somewhere
